well right now you can have all unseated skills unless you want to join squad 11 for obvious reasons, then kido may be something you want to leave out, but to get points you do a mission, which a lieutenant or Captain can give you, and then after the mission they give you points. however you have to be seated to get any seated skills, but when you are seated you get one mastery which bumps up whatever category you want to the next level. So say you like Zanjutsu, you put mastery next to it, and it goes up to lieutenant level stuff you can learn. make sense?
