I would like to express interest in this. As for plot wise, what about having one alien race that is uber bad and wrecking humanity's s***? The plot could have the crew just flying around trying to survive, cut off from the rest of humanity in general, with a few outposts within reach? Hell, we could think that we're the only ones left, and be quite surprised to find others, like a former mining team now doing whatever it takes just to get through another day. 

This is just my input though, all the ideas sound pretty bad ass. Am watching intently...
