In human terms, yes she was conceived out of wed-lock and is a bastard child. Naga, she's an abolination for being a half breed but not considered a bastard, since Mar never knew her father or had any dealings with him. In pure honesty, Naga don't get married or really stick together in a partnership like humans do. The only reason Mar and Athalus is together is because Lyn has more human in her and survival overrides tradition and instinct for her.
