Years ago he was conscripted, a worthless peon with a machine gun and a single magazine, but he pulled himself through suicide run after suicide run - the guy told his superiors he 'ate Nazis for breakfast'. His promotions came swiftly, and pretty soon the worthless conscript became one of the most battle-hardened commanders in the Red Line's armed forces. Niko has fought on the harsh surface and in the Metro, and has never once lost a battle - not one step back! The guy hates Nazis, seeing as commie-nazi rivalry goes way back. That, and while the Reds might be a little zealous and extreme, they don't massacre people for having imperfections like the Reich does. He believes the Reich should be obliterated by any means necessary and at any cost. Nikolai hasn't lost his humanity entirely, but he's very ruthless at times.

Name: Alisa Sokolov Aliases: 'Alexei Makarov' (Fake ID), 'Ghost' (Nickname/Callsign) Gender: Female, but like hell would she let anyone she didn't trust know. Her father was a soldier, like all the other men at Cursed - they never rested for very long, they were mindful only of their duty to protect the station and it's people, their families and their friends. Her mother died when Alisa was eight years old during a mutant attack, and ever since that time the child learned how to fight and survive alongside the guards and their sons who were also beginning to train. There had to be a steady flow of new recruits, otherwise the ranks would wear down too quickly with the sheer magnitude of mutant assaults. Every time the mutants found a way into the station or the surrounding tunnels, the brave defenders closed it, only for the mutants to dig another route in a week or so later. It was a never-ending cycle... At some point in 2033, the station suffered it's worst attack, one that would lead to the station being sealed off after the population was moved safely to the next station on the line. Alisa's father died in the fighting, failing to seal the breached tunnel blockade that the mutants had begun pouring through. Alisa was among the few surviving defenders. A young man named Artyom came to the station with an old, mysterious man named Khan whilst this attack raged, and it didn't take Artyom long to bomb and seal off the tunnels and the surface route. When it was all over, Artyom went on his way to Polis and Khan remained in Cursed to help maintain security while the station was evacuated. It was here that Alisa decided to ditch her comrades outright and go after that young man on his way to Polis, the so called brilliant 'underground city', a light of humanity that not even time could burn out. There, she continued her training with the Rangers, who were surprised to find a child capable of beating men twice her size in unarmed spars. Of course, to them she was Alexei Makarov and remains under that alias to this day. Despite 'his' age, Alexei is one of the Order's most experienced and deadly Rangers. People may laugh, but then they get their face bloodied and never speak ill of the fierce little Ranger again... Having ghost-white hair is Alisa's giveaway as a mutant, and so she tries to stay the hell away from Reich territory like the plague. If they were to take over the Metro, or capture her, Alisa would be shot on the spot, hanged before a crowd or sent to a horrific concentration camp. That's one of her prime reasons for wanting to fight the Reich - for a future.
