Don't feel bad. Everyone's overreacting. Tone and voice doesn't carry perfectly through text, and for whatever reason a few people assumed you were angry and rude when - to me, at least - it was clear you weren't.

So you didn't clarify how mages use magic, whatever. Someone brought it up, and you took the suggestion and fixed it. The people bitching about having to make minor changes to their character sheets are the kind of people you should just ignore. If they can't spare five extra minutes, you can bet they won't be active during the actual RP.

Honestly, the only thing you've done "wrong" is giving broad statements about what's wrong in general with the submitted character sheets, instead of looking at each sheet individually and telling the player what they need to change to get accepted.
