It's fairly moot point however when you impale a bunch of demons heads onto them, but it does ensure that the demon heads do not rot away, and even if the birds decide to eat them, the flesh regrows, allowing the birds a constant supply of food. He'll erect thousands of these around the college grounds in order to show everyone how serious he is about the demon threat.
