His family gained prosperity during the Reign of Sai and made their fortune off of the opened trade routes that were available due to the lack of borders at the time. With the fall of the Sai Regime, the Tsukino Trade Coalition lost a large portion of its power, but also gained animosity in most local areas as their business once had monopolized some places. Born to the youngest brother, Utaka had nowhere near the fortune or prestige of his cousins as his father received the lighter end of the business due to his age, as was custom. It was well known that his branch of the coalition was essentially 'dead weight' to the rest of it. Even though his portion of the trade coalition was weaker and smaller, it still impacted local businesses. Disgruntled competitors ultimately ambushed Utaka and his family, threatening to kill them if they did not cease their trade. His father, knowing that it would be poor for the image of the coalition if he allowed himself to be bullied, refused any cessation, resulting in the small mob beginning to beat him and his family. His father and mother were killed and as he saw his older brother being beaten, Utaka went into a fit of rage and used a technique that is still an enigma to this day. The technique was activated by a fit of rage and closely mirrored the Antlion Ninja Art: Ephemeral. Utaka lost his parents that day and his brother was paralyzed from the waist down, but change did not end there. The technique imbued Utaka with an immense amount of chakra - enough for a lifetime of jutsu in just a few minutes - and almost killed him killed him because of it. After quickly burning through those of immediate threat, Utaka passed out and the crowd that had formed actually sought out help as the only two alive were children. Utaka lived, but he was changed. He could absorb chakra and more over his chakra network had been altered. The exact alterations to his chakra network were seemingly trivial, as inspected by a Hyuuga using the Byakugan that stated the changes to his body are only in position; he has the same number of chakra points, merely in different places. Even still, Utaka was considered a medical anomaly. Taking on the new name Kino as it was a term of endearment from his brother, he lived with his aunt and uncle for the remaining duration of the Sai Regime. Once the regime fell, his uncle attempted to force him into the Shinobi Academy to get him out of the house, to which Kino initially refused. His refusal resulted in he and his brother being kicked out of the household, and forced them to live on the streets. Kino spent months begging for food, holding up signs, doing any work he could, and doing twice as much to feed him and his disabled brother. Ultimately, Kino knew he could not do it alone and returned to his uncle, asking him to take his brother back if he went to the Shinobi Academy. Agreeing was reluctant, as his uncle truly just wanted rid of them, but empathy towards his youngest brother and his disabled nephew was strong enough to persuade him. This led to Kino being put in the first classes of the new Shinobi Academy, and doing impressively well in them. Kino caught onto jutsu quick and was easily able-bodied enough to keep up with taijutsu and Shinobi weaponry. It was learned here that his altered chakra network gave him an advantage in chakra control; where it took some students weeks to climb trees, it only took Kino minutes to walk on water. Kino was not the strongest of his age, but his agility was able to match even the Uchiha in his class, and he excelled with a weapon few shinobi use: the bow. Kino was not only a very skilled archer, he could use chakra flow to guide arrows, and had the ability to shoot down kunai mid-air, all before graduating. His success in class actually brought pride to his uncle, whom went out of his way to then provide him with adequate gear. A new suit in his size, meant to make the most out of his agility. A bracer with a seal inscription that can summon a bow as if it were a scroll. All the arrows and kunai he could need for practice, and of course hidden quivers. His uncle would never admit it, but he was proud of Kino and wished one of his children could have been a shinobi. Despite that, Kino still has a great resentment towards the man, and believes he is only trying to make Kino into an icon for his business. Kino ultimately graduated near the top of his class with most of his peers knowing his name, and most knowing he had no history with the shinobi world. Kino spent his first few days as a genin in a hectic mess. Originally placed under a chuunin for specialized training, Kino found himself jealous of those placed onto the team with Kirugetsu Hozuki, a war veteran. However, with the almost all of Division B mysteriously wiped out a team restructure led to Kino being placed right where he wanted: on Team Moon, under Kirugetsu. With that news going to his brother and through him, his uncle, Kino was granted a new set of sealed bows and a new gauntlet. As always, Kino believed it was merely to endorse his uncle's new arms manufacturing. Personality. Kino is cynical and generally quite self-centered. Losing his parents and providing for his brother showed him at an early age that the world is evil, and people don't help. His brother is the only person he generally cares for, and he rarely sees him now. Kino is not necessarily proud of his accomplishments as he never truly wanted to be a Shinobi. Kino is artistic, and can paint and draw quite well. He was forced out of a life of art for the life of a shinobi, and still hates the fact. Kino is often brooding and quiet, but is not outwardly aggressive. Nature Release: Unknown element, shape transformation Traits. Abnormal chakra network, Can absorb chakra, Resistance to Genjutsu (via abnormal chakra network) Combat Style: Although Tsukino is not weak at close range, he by far excels using his bow and weaponry. He is relatively fast and agile as well as adequately skilled with the ninjutsu he has learned. Tsukino is also capable of absorbing chakra and at this point can through weapons and clothing, meaning what he lacks in strength can be made up for. Lastly, his altered chakra network makes him resistant to certain jutsu, such as targeted jutsu and genjutsu. Jutsu List: All academy jutsu. The added chakra also gives it slightly superior penetration power. Drawbacks: Repeated use can be taxing and the honing ability is only applicable to a few centimeters. Jutsu Name: Ten-no-Ya Jutsu Type: Offensive Effective Range: Mid Nature Type: Shape transformation Descriptions: Kino pours his chakra into his bow, then creates a single arrow made of chakra to fire. With no weight, this arrow is fired at incredibly fast speeds, but is only viable for roughly twenty meters. The arrow has great penetrating power, and after its initial penetration into flesh, it hits a chakra network to shut down nearby chakra points. Drawbacks: This jutsu is significantly draining if used repeatedly and is only effective at a mid-range distance, in comparison to even regular arrows. Weaponry: [s]A bow that is sealed inside his protective gauntlet.[/s] If broken, he can reseal it and summon a new one from the same stash. He has three quivers on his body with different arrows, ranging from smokescreens to poisons. He also has a utility belt with several items, such as nets, wires and smokescreens with two pouches containing kunai. Lastly, he carries one sword on his back beside his largest quiver and a small tanto on his hip beside his second quiver. The third quiver is located on the opposite side of his body as the one on his hip and is angled forward. Kino now wears an upgraded version of his gauntlet augmented with multiple bows that can be summoned via seals. Each bow has strengths and weaknesses to them, but sealed away to give Kino more flexibility in combat:

Hand-carved Bow This is the default bow Kino uses and was carried over from the first gauntlet. It is a long-bow made of finely-carved wood made dense, yet light by the senju.[/*]
Bladed-Bow This bow is a significantly shorter bow equipped with bladed edges on its top and bottom. This bow is meant for tight corners and close-range combat, but is otherwise made of the same wood as the original bow.[/*]
Chakra Bow This bow has a metallic core and a wooden frame made from the wood used to test chakra natures and the metal used to conduct chakra. It is not strung, instead requiring that its user channel chakra to create a chakra thread for a bowstring. When in use, this bow glows a dim blue around its wooden frame and amplifies the channeling of all chakra-related abilities into it.[/*]
Compound Bow This bow has a set of three pullies and a specialized bowstring that can withstand inhuman tensions. In terms of raw physics, this bow can output an incredible amount of force into a single arrow, resulting in a highly devastating shot. This bow is also bulkier and heavier than the other bows, making it less applicable in tight spaces or for repeated use. (Kino cannot use this yet.)[/*]
Red Death This is bow is a compound cross-bow with two overlaying sets of strings and a sixth set to act as a stabilizer using chakra. The entire bow is comprised of metal and requires a tremendous amount of strength to pull back, beyond that of an even above-average adult. It also is incredibly heavy and inaccurate if not used in conjunction with chakra, as the two overlaying bowstrings cause conflicting tension that must be stabilized mid-flight. The bow is called the Red Death based of the literal metric tons of force it can put onto an arrow (regular arrows would shatter, thus requiring larger arrows of a denser material) and the red cross airs used to aim the beast. This bow was originally made to be a compact ballista and was made into a weapon for Kino. (Kino cannot use this yet.)[/*]
