A Strange New World: Revived, Original Idea by Gowia. If you don't believe me ask him. Added Features: You will be able to play as a native american tribe. You will be able to play as a Pirate Ship. I also added more countries to choose as the mother land. when I make the OOC we will be allowed to make 2 colonies. The year is 1600 A.D. and the time for expansion is at hand. Resources not yet seen before and a land seemingly not yet inhabited lays across the ocean just waiting to be colonized. You are a Viceroy in the service of one of the majesty’s from the different courts of Europe, and it is your job and duty to oversee the creation, expansion and growth of these new colonies. Times are hard in this New World however as changes in weather, attacks from the natives or simple stupidity and miscalculation can lead to starvation and plague. If you are successful though the rewards are great, your success will be judged by the crown on a number of factors including industrial strength, economic growth, size of the holdings and the strength of your army. Succeeding in these areas and others can lead to boons from the homeland to aid you further or simply line your own pockets. However failure to provide what the monarch expects can lead to the opposite. Fines and possible expulsion as Viceroy are all too possible. You will not be the only Viceroy there of course. Every nation has sent one in hopes of capitalising on the wealth that the New World has to offer. Will you succeed where others may fail? RP Rules: -Basic RP Guild rules apply. -Swearing etc. is fine however only in moderation. A settler losing a leg or something is fine for a cuss or two however swearing for the sake of swearing is not acceptable. -Nobody gets to edit IC posts…if you have posted a decision has been made and there is no reversing that. -No arguing in the OOC, I don’t want any petty stuff and disagreements and they will be dealt with between myself and the parties involved through PM. -My decision is FINAL, I don’t mind people questioning my judgment and please feel free to make me explain my decision as that is what I am here for. But arguing because something has gone against you is not needed, neither are stupid comments and the like. -Please enjoy this, if you’re not, telling me is the best thing you can do and I will try to improve the game. Or you can leave and I shall open the space whilst thanking you for the time. Colony Sheets: Sheet [+] Home Nations to Choose from: Britain France Spain Netherlands Portugal Ottoman Empire Venice Austria Poland Sweden Denmark Russia China The Holy Roman Empire Or Native Tribe RP Mechanics: Okay the mechanics will be done in hiders to save space.
I will be using stats in the RP as they are the best way to keep things fair however it won’t be all numbers as that can be boring. Terms will be used instead and some sanity will be required to decide what projects are realistic. Number of Settlers - This is obvious, it’s your population. This will decide how many projects can be undertaken as well as the rate you can gather goods and how large your army will be during the times you have to arm the populace as a militia. Months of Food - Again, obvious, how long your food supply will last. This is increased through creating farms and ranches, whilst also you may get some help from the natives on what plants are god to forage. Wood – This will be a term to describe how plentiful the wood is in your location as this will be what decides how much you can build in early days. Logging camps will improve this. Raw Materials – This is the basic goods you have available to you. It will be what is around and how plentiful it is. The more basic goods you have the more you can send back to Europe or use to make finished goods. This is improved with the appropriate buildings. Tobacco farms and mines are examples for ore and tobacco. Finished Goods – Similar to Raw Materials this will be listed the same however is made up of what you have created from your Raw Materials. Cigars, coats and furniture are examples of this. These are created by workshops that can be constructed. Arms – These are the stores of guns and swords that you have for your settlers. These will probably need to be bought to begin with though may be made later in the RP. Religious Fervour – This shows how religious your populace are. A religious populous may have a higher number of incoming settlers however there will be limits on decisions you can make as their beliefs can be very strong. Please put the name of the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys next to your Viceroys name when you post your sheet so I know you have read these hiders.

Firepower: Crew Numbers: Raiding Abilities: Ship Size: Loot:

There will be basic turns in the fact I will update people once a season. I will also limit people to 3 or 4 posts a season as I don’t want pages of one liners. Furthermore I want a basic summary of what you are doing at the end of your post in a hider for my help. I enjoy the story but there are days I just want to know what has happened and make sure I include it in my update.

I will not be giving you a list of what you can and can’t build however again I want realism. Ships of Line are not reasonable for a new colony whilst logging a bit to make room for some basic farms is fine. Time frame wise I will update you on finished projects if they are big but smaller ones, just assume it is finished by the next update.

I expect all deals and relations to be dealt with over the IC and not through PM. I don’t like people announcing sudden deals with people they seem to have never spoken too. I will be RPing the crowns of Europe as well as the natives and diplomacy with them will be done through the updates. Secret deals can be done in hiders with the name of the specific person on the hider.

A post example would be a short story from the day in the life of the Viceroy or colonist that will be the beginnings of what you aim to do. E.G. Bob the Viceroy of New England is writing up a request to the English Crown for extra rations as food is running short. Meanwhile Billy Bob the colonist has begun to chop trees in hopes of getting lumber for the colony and making room for a new farm. That but obviously a LOT better. However the style you do this is pretty free form so as long as people can read it and know what’s happening it is fine. And don't forget the hider with a summary for me.

For Colony or Native Tribe Stats will be as follows to begin with. Number of Settlers: 300 Months of Food: 6 Wood: Fair Raw Materials: None Finished Goods: None Arms: 50 Guns and 100 Swords Religious Fervour: Avarage For Ship Firepower: 25 guns, 50 sabers, 5 cannons Crew Numbers: 80 Raiding Abilities: 5/10 Ship Size: Medium Loot: 3000 gold pieces

For Tribe: Name of Tribe: Location: Flag of Tribe: Tribes Leader: For Colony: Name of Colony: Parent Nation: Flag of Colony: Leaders Name: For Ship: Name of Ship: Leaders Name: Ship's flag: Leaders Appearance: Nation where they are from:
