Alright. I'll break the character sheet bubble. At least I've managed to make a sheet more lengthy than the elaborated example. ;) Name: Naomi Loker Preferred Name/Nickname: Naomi Age: 18 Gender: Female Housing Preferences: Preference: Non-smoker, female only dorm building, quiet person. First floor is a must. Avoid: housing near sororities/fraternities. Major: Paralegal Minor: Creative Writing Extracurricular Activity: Library Assistant What do you feel is your best natural ability? Agility What do you feel is your weakest natural ability? Strength What languages do you speak? English, Italian What do you feel your skill set is?
She is very talented at writing, able to duplicate dozens of styles and even copy handwriting. Looking up information in books is something that she is extremely comfortable with, preferring text to getting information from people. She is a great swimmer, able to hold her breath for about three minutes. She is a very perceptive person, picking up on changes in someone’s body language almost as soon as their mood changes. Being able to blend in with what’s around her and hide if needed come second nature to her, though she usually doesn’t realize she’s sneaking up on someone; she just has very naturally quiet footfalls. Patching up small wounds - like cuts and scrapes and dealing with bruises - is another thing that comes naturally to her. She’s rather decent at horseback riding as well. Knowledgeable in several areas, her main areas of expertise are law/law systems, classical literature and poetry, contemporary romance, and biology - though the latter she is once again brushing up on as this is a different environment from what she’s used to. She was quite skilled at surviving in her previous environment and is learning about her new environment too. Quite limber, she has the potential to be a fantastic gymnast.
Hindrances: She is overly cautious; hesitant to agree to anything out of her norm without knowing all the information that can be provided. Her pacifism isn’t a stance against fighting; it causes her anxiety or even just completely shut down and takes a lot for her to even attempt to run rather than just go fetal. In her eyes, she isn’t as good as the others around her and believes credit due to her will just be passed off to someone else or that they will simply overlook her. Helpful Edge: She is faster than she leads most people to believe. Her gymnast like body as well as some of her other skills make it easier for her to slip into small crevices, balance on thin ledges, or otherwise maneuver on/in areas most others cannot. Sometimes it seems like Karma is trying to pay her back, and she often just ‘lucks into’ immediately looking at the right book for information or even having some crucial detail catching her eye. Vehicle Registration: grey Subaru Legacy Appearance:
She has almond shaped aquamarine colored eyes (one of which is closer to green than blue and the other more blue than green, which is only really noticeable when someone actually sees both her eyes) and she has a nice - healthy - golden tan. Generally, she keeps her bangs cut so they curl in a plentiful bound to cover up one eye, to prevent someone from seeing the defect; the rest of her curly dirty blonde hair goes down to her mid-back in more natural waves than a tangled curls. She has well defined cheekbones and applies make up in a less-is-more kind of style in smokey nudes that helps enhance her features without making it noticeable she has any make up on at all aside from eyeliner to help really enunciate her almond shaped eyes and a bit of lip gloss in a shade that mostly just puts a sheen to her lips. Dainty by bone structure, she is super model thin and probably could have been a super model too if it weren’t for the fact she only stands five foot nothing. Her level of attractiveness degrades from how she carries herself, very guarded and full of nervous glances around instead of confident like most attractive females, and the depressed, sometimes scared, look in her eyes dampens them further. She also has a handful of scars scattered around her body - cuts and surgery scars from having bones reset - but all of that is covered up with her clothing. She doesn’t wear anything without long sleeves to it; usually something thin and generally layered - long sleeve under short sleeve - with either an out of place leather jacket that is clearly too big for her or a fraternity sweatshirt that’s clearly too big for her on over that. Aside from the jacket and sweatshirt, she’s generally in something form fitting and/or fashionable so long as none of her skin that isn’t her neck and face is visible.
Interests: writing (fiction and poetry), reading (mostly romance and poetry), singing, researching, playing board games, quiet places, rainy days, listening to music Disinterests: parties, loud noises, boisterous people, loud thunderstorms, ostentatious people, getting too much attention - particularly from boys Personality:
This is a girl with no self-confidence; whether it be in her own abilities or own appearance. She tries to be friendly, though, but always seems at a loss for the right thing to say and immediately self-deprecates for anything misspoken or stammered. Almost everything about her could be better in her eyes, though she’s made lots of progress from how bad she was when she first started seeing her therapist. Polite enough to carry on a conversation struck up, she becomes increasingly uncomfortable with a situation the fewer people are around - especially if it turns into a one on one situation with a boy - and tends to try to keep things superficial as much as possible. It takes a bit of time for her to be comfortable enough around someone before she’ll really try to connect, but she at least has been forcing herself to start up small talk with people she sees on a daily/semi-daily basis rather than simply ducking past people. She's more likely to just sit there and take it rather than stand up for herself, and she's constantly battling her own inner voice that critiques everything she does. Depression constantly looms in the back of her mind, and makes her more of a pessimist than she has any right to be. But she is trying, despite all her mental failings, she takes one step at a time to go out and try to better herself. Assertiveness is something her therapist is trying to get her to work on, but it is an uphill battle for it. She bottle negative emotions up, and rarely can get a genuine smile on her face - though she does try; she refuses to cry in front of others though - conditioned not to really - and thus it is extremely difficult to bring her to tears rather than her simply looking sad or dejected. She has a habit of playing with the ends of her shirt sleeves when she’s nervous or talking to someone for the first time. If talking to someone new one on one, or even just anyone she’s not very comfortable too yet, she’ll hug her book - as she generally has either a composition book or a novel in hand - to her chest while chatting as if it were a security blanket. She gets wrapped up in romances and fiction/fantasies, preferring teen/young adult series as they generally are more pleasant than dark. Ironically, some of her best writing deals with darker/more violent aspects of life and love, but she doesn’t let anyone read that stuff; the things she submits for classes are more along the lines of what she likes to read.
Equipment: average laptop; touch screen/slider phone; Ipod; several notebooks; well worn copies of Robert Frost, William Blake, and Edger Allen Poe collections; a handful of romance novels; the jacket and sweatshirt of her best friend; a penguin named Blake Brief Bit About Them: Her best friend is paying for her college, but it was her therapist that recommended ETU as a way to prove her progress to herself. It might take a little bit for her to get comfortable with a roommate, but she’ll try. She’s never had a real relationship with anyone - which probably isn’t very surprising given her abuse victim history - and the closest she’s ever come was for her stories. Although not quite sure what to consider herself sexually, she internally will admit attraction more toward females than males. Notes: I have the intent of having her evolve throughout the RP - though it will not happen immediately.
