Murder is looked down upon in the real world as well, but it still happens and is still permanent. Why would they change? After all, the in game story is of warring between the kingdoms. The players just got shoved in it.

And if killing people could mean getting a step closer in surviving/getting out/their interest, people will do it. There are people that cruel xD
