Devika nodded slightly, thinking the students staring was about her. "I figured it was useless too, but where I come from isn't exactly an easy place to live. I'm not trying to be the world's greatest, or anything like that. I just want to be... you know, better than I am. I figure, I'm paying for it, so I might as well get something really good. The book learning I can do almost entirely on my own." She looked around the cafe herself, jaw clenching slightly as she pulled up more of a mental defense. Then she led the way toward the food area, taking time to point out each station. Sandwiches, salad bar, desserts, burgers and fries, seafood... the cafeteria had plenty. "I mean, this school is all about building yourself up and making yourself better. I'd be a fool if I didn't want to improve all of myself."
