Well, if it means anything, sometimes I wish there was an afterlife just for certain types of people. You know the kind. The ones that willingly sacrifice their time and energy and love just to make your life better. For no more reason than just to see you smile. I still don't get it. Not really. There are still many things I don't get... But that person gave me a heart where I had nothing but contempt for people.

She didn't save my life, she wasn't my girlfriend or otherwise, she was simply a compassionate person with an endless amount of patience for wounded people like I was. For no reason at all. It still baffles me.

... And admittedly, on a nice sunshiny day, with clear blue skies, and a raven crying in the distance, I sometimes still think about her. It is strange. Delightful, nostalgic, a bit painful, but I revel in what little empathy I get to wield in remembering this person.
