She hasn’t had a very interesting life per say, spending most of her time down on the beach swimming or surfing or helping out at a local marine center. Her parents were heavily involved in the protection of marine wildlife, especially fighting against whaling. At the age of 13 Skye’s parents announced they had been asked to aid in a large project that could change the world for the better and significantly aid them in their battle. Unfortunately they couldn’t take Skye with them, instead she was going to go and live with her mother’s brother over on Aulani island, the only thing that kept a smile on Skye’s face is the fact her uncle not only lived on a property [i]inside[/i] the grounds of a water theme park, he was also a part owner of the park. She’s been on Aulani island for the past 2 years, she barely spends time with her uncle and doesn’t have the best connection with him but she still thinks highly of him. She’s a real water child and spends almost all of her time helping out around the theme park, possibly spending more time with the animals. She gets on well with her cousin Noah who is the head trainer/caretaker of the marine life at the park, he is Selkie’s main trainer and has been teaching Skye a few tricks of the trade here and there he’s also trying to get her a study program that can help her work with some of the larger mammals eventually. Skye has always been interested in the sea and its many wonders, Mako island has always fascinated her any opportunity she can get to go over there and explore she does. Apart from Noah Skye hasn’t really been proactive in making friends, she’s known among most social groups she just doesn’t belong to any often seen alone with her nose in a book unless she can escape to the water. When it was announced in class that she would be working with 3 other girls to do a class assignment, she wasn’t exactly sure how to take the news. Always the optimist she’s decided to try and make a decent impression...failing that she only recently acquired a new book... She is a somewhat closeted homosexual who will do pretty much anything to fit in, often pretending she prefers boys just so she'll be accepted and not ridiculed.
