Best read alongside Shiinen's CS (which will probably be up in less than ten minutes), I guess?
Name: Tomoe Akihiko Age: 17 Appearance: Just another ordinary young man. Personality: Incredibly tenacious, almost unnaturally so, but far too idealistic for his own good. He's the kind of person that can set a goal and painstakingly figure out how to accomplish it using whatever means are available, and to this end he's developed a rather keen intuition and a level-head. Akihiko is definitely an adaptable sort, he has his priorities straight and usually won't freeze up at every little new development. However, his idealism also makes him the kind of person that would deny himself completion of the aforementioned goal, all so he could save someone caught in the crossfire. Unsurprisingly, his idealism, not to mention his own inexperience in general, makes him very naive. It could be said that his immense dedication is less towards the Fu Sonzai no Genso itself, and more towards what they're attempting to accomplish Socially, Akihiko's standard upbringing hasn't instilled any peculiar traits within him, apart from his naivete if you consider that one. His demeanor definitely leans more towards the reticent side. Though blatant displays of emotion are hardly uncommon for him, he mostly uses more subtle expressions like small smiles or exasperated sighs. He could easily be seen as 'soft' by some of the more jaded members of the group due to his natural inclination to kind-heartedness, as well as his unwavering loyalty and obvious concern for his allies' safety. Mostly due to his perceived inability to measure up to most of the others in terms of abilities, he believes himself to be a burden and eagerly tries to prove his worth. Abilities:

Hacking (and Other General Electronic Know-How) - Akihiko's greatest skill, one honed for the intention of becoming a programmer in the future, but is now used to help investigate supernatural crimes (and general housekeeping purposes). Unfortunately many of its uses are made obsolete by the presence of magic within the agency. Still, if you ever need anyone for something requiring a more tech-savvy touch, you know the guy to call.[/*]
Parkour - Due to the presence of vehicles and other forms of quick transportation it's a skill Akihiko's developed more for showing off and keeping fit than any practical movement. Though there's still occasions where it sees use, such as reaching convenient vantage points or shadowing targets. Practicing this skill has also improved his overall speed and agility.[/*]
Affinity: "Synthesis" - An affinity based around the concept of combining in order to produce something new. Conceptually related to spells regarding 'Integration', 'Analysis', and 'Transmutation'. Within this affinity's main area of influence are spells such as rune arrays, most theurgical rituals, and alchemical processes. In the hands of someone with a lot of magical experience, potential, and time, it could be considered a formidable affinity in its sheer versatility. Unfortunately (Fortunately?) it's possessed by Akihiko, a first generation mage who's definitely lacking in exceptional magical capacity - not least due to the fact he's constantly sustaining a familiar - and poorly trained, with his the closest thing to training being replication of an onmyoji's notes. The extent of his primary magical knowledge extends to the use of runes, ofuda, and shikigami, as well as magic regarding the maintenance of a familiar. [/*]
Eika - His familiar.[/*]
Weapons/Equipment:

Smartphone: Modified for use in hacking. Not to the level of someone like Aiden Pearce, however. More along the lines of simple on/off commands, piggybacking off of security cameras, and accessing/uploading relatively unsecured data.[/*]
Multitool: Equipped with the standard arrangement of tools: scissors, saw blade, knife blade, screwdriver, bottle opener, reamer, pliers, etc.[/*]
Pocketknife: Used to gather blood when using a pen is inconvenient. Rarely used as a weapon due to impracticality. The blade is less than 6cm as per Japanese law.[/*]
Pens: Three different varieties of them. One ballpoint, one rollerball, and one gel. Each of them use a blood-ink mix to get that extra OOMPH out of written spells.[/*]
Index Cards: Carried around in a leather deck holder on his belt.[/*]
Blank Ofuda: Carried around in his inner jacket pockets, as well as up his sleeves and in a pouch on his belt.[/*]
Belt: Contains everything on the list except the phone in one the three three pouches Akihiko's attached to it.[/*]
Brief Backstory: A young first generation mage who could have, and should have, ended up living out a normal lifestyle without learning any knowledge of the supernatural world whatsoever. Akihiko is an only child born in Tokyo. At the age of 13, Akihiko moved to a nondescript town not far from Kawa City. It was there that he gained an interest in the paranormal after taking a dare to hang out with the 'weird' kids who were interested in urban legends, ghost stories, and other such subjects. It turned out that they were pretty decent people, and soon enough they became a rather tightknit group of six. Knowledge of his capabilities as a mage came about as more or less an accident. He had been surfing the Internet bored and alone, when he decided to try his hand at a simple ritual. After doing the appropriate research on something that seemed to be easy to cast, he attempted the ritual and to his surprise (and horror) found that it actually worked. He never told anybody, and just kept it his little secret as he continued with life as usual. In the summer prior to Akihiko's first year of high school, the town saw the occurrence of a string of disappearances with no obvious rhyme or reason. One of the member of their group, a boy named Takeshi who was the son of their local temple's priest, was particularly adamant on investigating. With nothing much better to do with their summer, they all began playing detective. They had actually managed to make a bit of progress. Then slowly but surely, Akihiko's friends began getting picked off. The rest began dropping the investigation entirely, though that didn't save them one bit. It was at this point in time that he began delving back into the magical world, looking for something to help him survive. He ended up teaching himself how to use Elder Furthark runes after a lot of trial, error, and damage to his backyard. Unfortunately it didn't save him from getting targeted nor did it save his parents from getting murdered by a rogue mage's familiar, but he'd managed to buy enough time for himself to get saved by Eika. After escaping from death, Akihiko headed to the temple to warn his remaining friend. However, in another stroke of bad luck, he was too late. With nowhere to go and nothing else to do, he took it upon himself to continue the investigation once more, for the sake of his fallen friends and family. Working off of Takeshi's notes, and the knowledge he'd gathered using his own skills, Akihiko eventually cracked the case and went to take down the individual in question or die trying. He never got to do it, as it seemed that someone else was after the mage: an organization by the name of Fu Sonzai no Genso. Immediately afterwards Akihiko approached the one that looked to be the leader and the rest, as they say, is history.
