Abel was in the process of relaxing and wondering how some of the others -particularly the only guy who outsized him, a tanned brute who had been wielding two scimitars before he set them aside- could fall asleep so easily when the armored teen he had seen before entered. As Abel watched, he made his way to an empty, pillow-devoid mattress at the rooms center directly next to those of Hansen and Gretchen and arranged the offered blanket into a nest for his drones. Those drones were a source of marvel to the Guardian; while there was certainly a push for similar technology to assist or even take over from the Guardians back home, most of those robots had been human-sized or larger, even weapons of war. Such small, intricate droids were nothing short of amazing--particularly since they seemed to display something akin to personality. Is that even possible? I thought robots couldn't have feelings? Then again, robots didn't attend school last he checked either, so perhaps it really was a revolution. All was not well for Ineko, however. His choice of positioning, while ideal for him and his children, was unfortunate in its proximity to a certain trouble-loving pair in his vicinity. No sooner had he sat bolt upright and closed his mechanical eyes than Hansen and Gretchen abandoned their plotting and commenced examining him. In the process, they left their stash of pillows unguarded, giving Abel reason to wonder if anyone would be trying to steal from the thieves. The slender redhead waved a hand in front of Ineko's face to see if he was awake, while her portly brother crouched near the drones, ignoring their clicking and whirring as he peered at them curiously. Abel saw, despite the distance, that Hansen still had his collapsed halberd on his belt. Abel decided to let that situation sort itself out and turned away. He noticed then, remarkably for the first time, that a nearby boy was snoring incredibly loudly. Groaning, Abel pulled the pillow over his face. "How can you live with yourself?" He murmured into it irritably.
