Today was the day, Ani thought to herself as she was shoved into a royal blue and purple gown. She thought back on the whirlwind of events and couldn't help but wish to escape. She didn't want to be queen. Ani wanted to play with the children again like she did only a few days ago. She sighed as the maids prepared her for the round table treaty that was to commence. She heard her maids talk about a legend in which Ani had heard too much of: the legend of the Kingdom of Lucifer. They spoke about how the king was a cannibal and ate his first child. It was quite the ridiculous rumor, but it kept Ani's mind off things. Ani sat in the chair as the women curled and styled her raven-black hair. Though it was strange to her, Ani loved the feeling of her hair being touched. It relaxed her. She was now ignoring the maids, their gossip becoming too much for the young queen. She just sat back and relaxed as they made her look like a doll. ~~~||~~~ Furnia sat in her room, her maid Celeste running a brush through her hair. Furnia looked at Celeste through the cracked mirror (Furnia's doing) and decided something that a queen should never decide. "Celeste, may I ask you a few things?" Celeste looked at Furnia in the mirror and nodded. "Of course, milady. Anything." Furnia smiled softly. "You have been my maid since you were a young girl. I understand that you know everything about how a queen should act and what this kingdom needs, do you not?" Celeste stopped mid-brush and tilted her head. "I do, Your Majesty." Furnia turned to Celeste, Celeste becoming very startled. "Then you, my dear, must go to the round table treaty. You must represent Lucifer. I need help here. This kingdom has become a chaotic Hell since my husband died. I could never show my face there. My features must become more dignified. I feel as if I am withering away. I ask of you to please represent me. Please." Celeste's eyes widened in shock at what she was asked to do. "You mean... act as a queen in front of actual kings and queens?" Furnia shook her head. "No, no. I ask you to be there in my place. Say that I am just waiting for the perfect time to show my face or near those lines. I need to clean this place up and make it better. Would you, Celeste, please do me the honors of attending this treaty for me?" Celeste could not believe what she was asked. Go to a treaty? Well, that would be obsurd! Yet, the Furnia was so defeated after the king died that Celeste couldn't possibly say no. Celeste smiled softly and said "I shall, Your Majesty." She would soon realize why she was sent though.
