The Covenant dropship was providing cover for the units on the ground. It was superior to UNSC Air ships, and was taking many down before they got there. Two drop ships carrying the O.D.S.T (Ours is one of them) were being sent in as an immediate response. The second ship, carrying a boat load of ODST was hit by several plasma shells, some pods were released, meaning some people escaped, but most perished with the ship. Then the plasma cannons turned its attention onto the second ship. 

"You boys will need to think about dropping soon" The pilot said over the comms, as they started to feel the impact of the plasma rounds. He started to climb in altitude.

Zack put his helmet back on, heading into his drop pod. "See you guys on the ground" He said, sealing himself inside the pod, and waited for the green light to drop.
