As she talked about Peggy, it was as if she was taking his heart and stabbing it, then pouring salt all over it... then putting it on fire. The more she talked about how she thought about him, the angrier, and sick he felt. But all he could do was shake his head. He wasn't going to yell at her. Of course she wouldn't know the pain of being out of her time. Being somewhere where he knew that he didn't belong. It was just too much of a coincidence for her to be related to the woman he had wanted to be with... And then she revealed her big secret. His face was no longer laughing. She looked much more natural, and much more beautiful with her hair down, and her eyes now bare... but he wasn't going to admit that now. "Always secrets with you guys." He said, clearly upset. He stood up, shaking his head. "How do you expect to keep allies, when you always lie to the people you say you're helping?" he asked not really her, but just the agency in general. "They have people following me everywhere I go, they didn't tell you who you were pretending to have feelings for." He didn't know if the kisses they shared meant anything to her, and at the moment, he didn't seem to care. "One of the only reasons I stay with S.H.I.E.L.D. is because I know she helped found it... I like to think they are the good guys... But I don't know anymore." He said softly, turning away from her. he was half tempted to leave, but something made him stay. He didn't know if it was to hear her try to apologize, seeing those familiar Carter eyes... but whatever it was, his legs didn't plan on moving.
