Commitment of Players: Temporary to Permanent Status acceptable for players. Frequency of Posts: One to three posts a week from any player in the group. Status of RP: Open and accepting players. - - - Light Premise: Based on fandoms such as Doctor Who or Guardians of the Galaxy, our band of characters will travel outer space and meet various species and explore various planets and solar systems. Our characters can come and go as they please, should they find a new home and wish to leave the group, that is their right. Should our group find a new companion along the way and should they be deemed non-threatening, they can join us. This gives players the opportunity to play several roles and expand their collection of characters and develop them as individuals. As GM, I encourage players to have characters come and go and return, or even die. I too, will be playing several roles while committing to at least one main role who will be the glue that holds our group together. My main role will be that of an alien, a bit like The Doctor. They will be from outer space and they will have their own ship that travels through time and space. Except my character won't have the cheap trick (sorry fellow Whovians but it is a bit cheap...) of regenerating. In other words, my character will be mortal. There will be no underlying goal to collect certain people for some big badass plan to save humanity though. This group's initial formation will be purely chance and impromptu. All characters starting out will need to be humans from Earth, as GM I will be picky and won't accept players who have sob stories about orphans or divorce or disease, no offense to anyone who has suffered said hardship in real life but seriously, I'm tired to seeing the same tropes used for no good reason except to hog attenuation and make players work to get past the shell of icy angst. Again, this applies to characters, not players, not trying to piss on anyone's shoes here. But...seriously, don't bother me if your character needs a lot of hugs, we ain't got time for that. We're in outer space, bro! On the flipside, don't make an asshole who no one wants to be around, again, we're advanced writers, so think development through and make someone who wouldn't be a pain to work with. As the chapters progress, other aliens and species will be made available for players. Should a player have an idea for a location or race, we can collaborate and make it happen. This is largely a sandbox styled roleplay. Usually i do get fed up because some GMs don't have a real direction but with missions and quests planned and voted on by all players in the OOC, I don't think that will be a big issue here. So being an active player in the OOC, is important. You have a voice, let me hear it. Our starting location will be Earth, probably this year (2014 or 1015) to make it simple. My main role (gender still to be determined) will land on Earth and will end up recruiting random people who want some direction in life. These people can be any age, and should bring a unique talent to the table. People from all walks of life would be more interesting than having all teenagers who know karate and love Star Trek. Of course this is a chance to poke fun at the sci-fi fandoms, if you'd like. I'm a fan of many of them and while I'm not trying to parody them per say, this is a story where we should have fun and focus on relationships and adventure, nothing too serious. So if you're interested in leaving Earth for a while to explore the universe, beyond the boundaries, then grab your lunchbox and come with me!
