Think of the exact OPPOSITE of your char. That is how personalities usually work. Somehow augment him. Or that complements. 

I.E.

York was a joker and wasn't the brightest(He wasn't) so he got Delta, the logic.
North Dakota got Theta who was childish and due to Norths caring personality he looked after him.
Carolina was a bit of stickler for protocol, she was (supposed) to get Sigma who was creative.
