A melting pot of genetics, the Dre'Shkar are typically two meter tall humanoids who closely resemble Man, though their skin and eyes can contain nearly every color known to Man. Although their genetics are quite similar to humans, they are, on average, significantly stronger, faster, and tougher due to alien musculature and bone structure, though their intelligence is predominantly the same as a human's. The Sons of Shkar are by no means a conventional 'nation-state' or 'empire', and are instead a primarily decentralized people spread across hundreds of forgeships, fleets, and vessels. They possess no homeworld and simply take what they want or need from wherever or whomever stands in their way, using their agility, tactics, and technology to accomplish their aims. Still, they tend to live in the shadows of dark space, basing their forgeships and primary population centers there, where few if any other ships wander. Politics, Power & Economy The Dre'Shkar number, with a wide range of possible error, about 250 million. They are spread throughout the galaxy fairly evenly, with more Dre'Shkari near higher densities of civilization that they feed off of. This decentralization is the result of infighting and territorial squabbles, as well as the lack of a strong enough leader to unite them. Strength, and not necessarily brute force, is what drives the Dre'Shkar, and those that are the biggest, baddest, and/or most cunning quickly rise to the top. Consequently, there is currently no recognized leader of the Dre'Shkari, though there have occasionally been warlords who have successfully gained dominion over the whole of their people. However, this decentralization has given them a near-galactic presence, with stories of raiders from nowhere swooping in, seizing women, children, and supplies while slaughtering men, and then disappearing back into space. Their decentralized economy contains any and all commodities and symbolizes in the truest sense a 'free', chaotic market. Slaves, substances and weapon deemed illegal by many galactic civilizations, it doesn't matter to the Dre'Shkari. They will take anything they can get their hands on. Industrially, they build and construct their ships using forgeships that strip resources from worlds, asteroids, comets, stars, or captured ships using highly advanced graviton technology and then process it using nanotechnology into new vessels that are almost grown in a sense. They are a military-scientific power possessing an large number of combat-ready vessels and highly experienced, effective crews combined with stolen, discovered, or invented technology, primarily gravitic in nature. The Dre'Shkar are nearly unrivaled masters of the graviton, possessing extremely fast and innovative graviton drives that are used for both FTL and STL speeds, and weapons that are primarily gravitic in nature, utilizing graviton "tendrils" to crack open, shred, bend, break, or puncture the ships of their enemies while wreaking havoc on their artificial gravity. Often their focus, however, is on disabling, boarding, and taking their enemy, with their first target being the enemy's engine and communications systems.
