Arcana (Featuring Cecilia and Simon) Sunlight splashed against her face, causing Arcana to nearly zoom out of bed, her hair floating every possible direction as if it had a mind of its own. Her baggy t-shirt slid down one shoulder, exposing glimmering pale golden skin; she was the picture of a bedraggled student. For a moment, Arcana nearly forgot where she was, but her ears perked upon seeing an elegant form standing near the window. The form's small hands held the rope that usually kept the heavy curtains tied together, indicating that it was the source of Arcana's awakening. 'Is th-this my roommate?' Arcana thought, suddenly aware that she hadn't had a chance to introduce herself yesterday. The young harpy had spent most of her day after the opening ceremony in the library so that she could research Grey. She had made it one of her missions this year to figure out the origin of their Headmaster, so much of her attention was focused on that she had all but forgotten she even had a roommate. "Hello there! Sorry to wake you up this way, I couldn't wait to say hello to you." The elegant figure said, a girl by it's voice, hiding a small giggle behind one of her dainty hands. The muted sunlight streaming through the window behind the girl made the her features nearly impossible to see, save for the pearly horn protruding from her forehead beneath shining blonde hair. "Oh, how rude of me. I should properly introduce myself." Her delicate form moved from the window, coming into focus for Arcana. The girl had soft blue eyes framed by long lashes and fair skin. She held out a hand for Arcana to shake, a small, yet polite, smile on her lips. "I'm Cecilia, nice to meet you." Cecilia's refined nature caused Arcana to momentarily lose herself, staring at her roommate in awe. A small little noise from Cecilia, accompanied by an encouraging smile, brought Arcana back to reality. The young harpy reached out nervously, her hand slightly shaking as Cecilia bridged the gap to gently take Arcana's slightly larger hand in her own dainty ones. "You don't need to be nervous around me, I don't bite," Cecilia said, her hands felt warm on Arcana's, "Well, at least not too hard." Cecilia finished with one of her small giggles. "I-I-I-" Arcana started, her cheeks flushing crimson, "I'm s-s-sorry. I'm Ar-Arcana." She stuttered, her cheeks growing even hotter. Cecilia only smiled, as if Arcana's stuttering didn't bother her in the least, or her poor introduction. "No need to be sorry, it's great to meet you, Arcana." Cecilia's eyes sparkled as she spoke. And then she gently let go of Arcana's hand, trotting to one side of the room to a small kitchen. "Tea? I have some jasmine, acai, chai...?" Cecilia offered as she brought out a delicate porcelain tea set. The two roommates spoke over breakfast, prepared by a giggling Cecilia after Arcana proved to be particularly clumsy in the kitchen. Arcana had finally found a new friend. ---- Arcana burst out into the air, her elation evident by her looping spirals in the sky. She wore dark brown linen shorts and an earthy green tank-top, perfect for her first day in Gardening Club. Her wild golden hair was tamed into a french braid, courtesy of Cecilia. 'She's so amazing!' Arcana thought giddily, remembering her morning with her roommate. As she came out of a tight loop in the air, she heard a loud thumping sound below her. She peered down curiously to see a herd of galloping quadrupeds rocketing their way through the school grounds. Arcana looked into the distance, seeing that their path seemed to take them dangerously close to the gardens. They all seemed to be part of a club, she realized as one of them shouted orders at the rest. Arcana wondered who the one lagging so far behind was: he didn't appear to be wearing his team-jacket like the rest. Curiosity took over, causing Arcana to follow them overhead. Not long after, she lost sight of them in the greenery of the gardens. She followed them down, twirling this way and that to make her way through the branches of towering trees. She arrived in a small glade surrounded by big-leafed plants, but couldn't see any of the four-legged creatures she had been following. It was quiet, she realized. She perked her tapered ears up, trying to listen for a sound. ...ump...thump... Thump... THUMP Suddenly, she heard thumping fast approaching her location and she barely had time to turn when a chestnut-haired creature leaped over the leafy plants surrounding the glade and slammed into her. "OOF!" Was all she could manage to say, the air thoroughly knocked out of her as she got tangled around the front-side of whoever-it-was.
