Fallout: Equestria is obviously not literature. Sometimes the stories with the most recognition are those with the least talent. Let me take a few examples of fanfiction that is actual literature. I can point out, for example, the 99 Worlds Saga. It spans over 4.5 million words. The prose is written beautifully and the grammar is impeccable. The plot behind it is complex and woven with talent and care like that of Tolkien. The world(s) is written no less marvellously, with places, machinations, and mechanics worked out as well as Malazan Book of the Fallen and Narnia. Every single new book in the saga further establishes the competency of the author, and now he's planning to write even more.
