Her gaze moved to the floor as he started forward. She didn’t want him to go but, well, she wasn’t going to stop him. His footsteps grew louder as they drew closer and she closed her eyes, not daring to watch him walk out the door. She’d rather feel the door be taken from her and hear it shut than to watch him walk out. GOD she was way too attached to this man! But she couldn’t explain it, they just clicked. Clicked like she had never clicked with anyone before; never had someone treated her with such respect and in such a gentleman-like way, she was easily swept off of her feet and instead of it being by someone who was playing her, it was by someone who actually meant it. She could feel him getting closer which didn’t help as more tears rolled down her cheeks and the door left her hand but… his footsteps stopped and the door was taken from her hands. When it shut behind her with a thud she slowly opened her eyes, her emotional brain was able to put two and two together that he hadn’t actually left but she was still surprised to see him as she turned that deep glossy blue gaze up to him. A small soft laugh left her through her sniffles as he said he was glad that he wasn’t alone in the old tradition situation. “To the pits with the people who don’t like old traditions.” She said playfully, in a soft voice; almost a whisper as if it was their little secret. Her head instantly fell into his hand and she let out a soft sigh, she wasn’t sure where this was going but to be touched and the door shut was a good sign right?
