Being called the main operative felt good. It sounded cool and important and it meant for a great start with the League. Big role right in the beginning, how nice! Pretty frigging terrifying too, Shifter realized after stepping through the portal. She swallowed the small implant with a cringe all the while listening to Killshade and doing her best to ignore her nerves. Was he just making sure that he'd understood everything, or was he feeling nervous as well? Shifter wasn't sure if she wanted to know. The small explosives were quickly hidden inside her left arm under skin and muscle. The only visible sign of the unusual hiding place was a slightly protruding sliver of skin, and that too was quickly hidden by her outfit. Shifter was pretty sure she'd put pressure out a few of her nerves with the hiding trick. The arm would be useless soon. ”Yeah yeah, that's right,” the shapeshifter replied to Killshade, hurrying towards the restaurant. ”Come on, man. The citizens of this beloved city need their heroes!” she continued, last sentence said with gusto. Casually Shifter transformed again, the pathetic looking man giving way to a cute, confident looking woman. Was she trying to drown out her worry with played up eagerness? Was the confident smirk utterly fake? Yes, but no-one else needed to know that. In fact, she was starting to believe that she wasn't scared at all! Sometimes, lying to yourself was the best thing to do.
