Suddenly feeling defensive, Nathan replied with "hey, she's not the only one with parent issues, at least she didn't have to watch her's get slaughtered right in front of her, just because of how they were born! For so long I lived so that I could avenge them, my whole life became consumed by the goal to punish the people who killed them, to get revenge ." Scoffing, he continued "revenge; the most worthless of causes. I finally got my revenge, and it only cost me everyone else that I cared about! I was finally starting to get my life back together; after I lost my parents, I was all alone in the world, I was an orphan, and still am. So it took me a long time to find people I could trust, and they all died for my revenge. When I found the people who killed my parents in a tavern, I saw red. Nothing mattered except my revenge. And that was the problem. I...used magic that killed my parent's murders...but my friends were caught in the crossfire." It wasn't quite the truth. What really happened was that Nathan had transformed into his Dragon form and used his massive size and strength to squash them, and while he didn't directly kill his friends, his reckless attack did cost them their live indirectly "that's why I drilled my point into her; if she's anything like I was back then, then nothing else is going to get though to her. She needs to learn what her pride and anger can cost her, before she's forced to learn the hard way...like I was. If you really care about her, then you won't let her make the same mistake that I did"
