Sins. Some people have many, others have few. Those who do have a darker soul than those around them, and vice/versa. Normally such a thing isn't able to be seen. Why would you want it to anyway? Well... I have an interesting proposition for you sinners and saints alike...: The sinner's sword... Unlimited power, if used correctly. Depending on your soul's weight, the sinner's sword can give you all the power you want. Power to smite evil, or... become the most powerful demon in existence. Of course, that's up to you. --- So, basically, this is a battle of good versus evil. Heaven has decided to judge humanity, and as such, has left a test behind and shut their gates. There is a single weapon from before human creation that has been bestowed upon humanity to do with what they will. But, heaven has told it's messengers to guide the blade to a shrine, where it should be placed, if humanity were to give up such a treasure. If they do, heaven opens back up to mankind. If not... well, the rest is self-explanatory. Those who have pure black souls will become powerful demons, and seek the blade to use it to gain power. Those who have pure white souls gain phenomenal holy power to use against the demons. The sword of sins absorbs the weight of the sins others have committed, and converts it into power for the wielder to use. In the wrong hands, it absorbs an entire soul, and gives it's power to the demon. But in the right hands, It can purify even the darkest demon, if such a fiend is defeated. Your goal? Obtain the sword and lead humanity to a path of righteousness, or, become it's ruler. (yeah yeah yeah, kind of over-used the holy/unholy dynamic, but I think this will be kind of fun. I already have a plot ready. I just need players. Oh, and the setting is modern-day.)
To those of you willing to step up and play, welcome aboard. I'll be posting rules, and other information soon. Rules: (Standard guild rules apply. Anything else is just me being picky.) OOC 1. What I say goes. Trust me. I don't do anything without a reason. Feel free to ask me why I'm making such a decision, but don't argue with me over it. 2. Don't argue. If you have beef with someone, take it up elsewhere. This isn't a thread for arguing. It's for discussing the rp, and having fun. 3. I couldn't think of a rule 3. 4. The CO-GM's word will also be law. Only second to mine. 5. When the rp begins, please keep all commenting to this thread only. 6. Don't clutter the OOC with back-and-forth talk between players. If you will be having a conversation, or foresee actions happening with another character for a while, collaborate on a post before you post it. IC 1. Every man for themselves. There is no reason, and nothing to gain from helping someone in this rp. Unless it's in your character's nature (mentioned) that they are an altruist, you can, and may just assume they are using you. 2. The Sword of Sins can only be held by one person (until they die). You want the sword, don't you? Likewise, those who have the sword can't just give it up. 3. Do not godmod/auto-hit another player, or major character. Chances are, if I'm controlling the NPC (major), you can't harm it without asking me first. 4. You might think, "Is what I'm doing illegal/right?" If the answer is yea, chances are it still doesn't matter. Fuck the rules. 5. Those with black souls automatically have bonuses over all other players. Them's the breaks. Name: Age: Appearance: History: Personality: Soul Tendency: (white, black, or grey) Sin Tendency: (Info will be given about this soon.) Strength: (Likewise) Weakness: Powers: (unavailable at the moment.) Equipment: An explanation on sin tendency: Sin tendency is what sin you are most likely to commit at a given time. When holding the sword of sins and having a grey or black soul, or, being nearby the sword, the sword's power will try to force you to sin in it's presence, so that it may eat your soul. The darker the soul, the less control you have over whether you sin or not. White souls are unaffected. Black souls, however, gain power around the sword, and those who sin. Anybody with Gluttony/Avarice/Envy/Wrath as their sin must try to steal the blade. Those with Sloth and Lust, well... that's their choice. The grey or black souled one holding the sword's sin will change to pride. Strengths and Weaknesses: Since I don't trust you all to easily be black souls, Altruistic natures, and their ilk are banned from being mentioned in a character's personality. The real test is whether it's one of your strengths. You can choose one stat strength and one mental strength. Mental strengths apply to those who wish to help others without being branded a sneaky rat, or, want to not as easily sin. Stat strengths are things like physical power, skill, and aptitude in magic. You can have any number of weaknesses.
