The Darkness didn't have time to answer before the girl sprinted away. He walked back into the battle, still using his darkness as a shield, and dodging projectiles every now and then. He had left the hammer back at the store. He wouldn't need it anyway. He used the darkness to kill a few demons behind Toby that he hadn't caught. Toby was nice enough to not blast the vessel to hell. The Darkness might as well return the favour by watching Toby's back. He also caught sight if the girl he had tripped over earlier, but she seemed to be fine.

The Darkness kept walking, picking off any enemy that got too close.
