He doesn't really have a normal appearance. I just put the lamp because that's where he spends much of his time. If he's out of the lamp, he'd be in his hero look, or something else i come up with. I'll probably put a picture or description if he's anything else.
To answer your question, no, he can't move or talk from the lamp. He can still hear, however, and rubbing the lamp is the equivalent of ringing a doorbell.
