Both SNKe Sport and Adrian, you think of me as a complete moron, never once did I say that the US fixes poverty, never once did I say that the suffering around the world is not a problem. You seem to me like a classic liberal, blaming the worlds problems on those who have more than others, or those who dont want to spend every last dime on someone less fortunate. You may not think different of me, I dont care. But your notion of me is not a solid as you think, I may not bend over backwards to help poor in other countries, but I work hard to help those who live around me. I've been volunteering at homeless shelters and day kitchens for almost 3 years now. I might not treat every once of food as the world saving grace, but I dont throw out things just because a new version has been released. I'm one of the most common faces in the goodwill stores around my city. Your problems is what you feel, as you stated Adrian you feel because it is fact, Sure, feelings are usually based of of events from the world. But just because you feel doesn't mean that you are right in all that you say. So far you both seem angry at the waste in first world countries. The problem that you both fail to realise is more important than any feeling in the world. The waste that exists in this world is not due to any sort of hatred towards others, instead it is largely due to the inability of individuals to give what isnt used to those who are poor. Im my city I help those who seek help in the form of shelter and food, but how can I help people in africa or rural china? Send money so the African warlords can kill for it. So the chinese government can spend it on 'aid for its people'. The problem is the lack of availability for people to give their waste to those who really need it. Sure I could give money to organizations that help the poor, but how much of that goes to pay executives, how much is wasted on government lobbyists, what is actually given to those who need it? In many places humanitarian aid is received by those who need it, but in many places there are powerful leaders of local gangs who steal aid from the people who need it. My uncle, now a pastor in Texas once a missionary in many locations in africa has shared his stories. Many revolving around giving food to small African children only for them to be beaten and robbed by others. For supplies given to villages in need to be stolen by warlords who horde in an attempt to ensure their power among the local villages. So go ahead and call me a selfish, ignorant brat. But understand that unlike your feelings, I know what the true source of the problem is, and instead of wasting money on non-profits who will spend the money on corporate vacations I am spending time helping those who live around me. This guy. Sometimes I love youtube comments.
