Sophia stepped to the front of the group as the guard spoke. It was foolish to not expect the guards to intervene. She looked up at the man, her yellow eyes reflecting the moonlight. "Oh, hello sir. We are seeking passage into the town. My room... um..." She looked to the ground, unable to think of a way to describe the situation in a calm fashion. Thankfully, Eva filled in the blanks. "Two of the Princess' servants were killed in the room earlier tonight. Understandably, she did not feel comfortable sleeping there." Sophia nodded. "So... we were going to head into town to find an inn to stay at, at least for the night." The Princess spoke again, the fatigue showing through in her tone. She clutched the helmet tightly beneath her arm. She wondered if this was the same guardsman she'd met earlier, but she couldn't tell from his voice, and the nature of their helmets nearly completely obstructed their faces.
