I have only made one frivolous purchase!
Because you're presumably already sending out the invitations, there's nothing to reveal, so I'll have my fun and discuss this. Consider: the average peasant family lives off of 3 bullis a year. 3. Since the average peasant will live to be 60, this means they will have made 132 bullis from the time they've moved out and become independent, to the day they die. Even in accounting for agricultural and economic advances [ new techniques, new tools, the potential invention of machinery ], if these peasants never really rise in socio-economic status, it would take them and their descendants eight centuries to make a sum close to what the Lord of their ancestor spent on a wedding over the course of a week. Their family line is more likely to go extinct than it is to collectively accrue a sum of wealth as great as you have just spent. People will ride on steamcycles, and wars will be fought with clockwork robots before their descendent will have ever achieved having the sum of money that you have just blown on this wedding centuries ago. But then, it was only 'one frivolous purchase,' wasn't it? Nothing to fret about.
