The Wardens are known not to shy away from Mages, and in the past have recruited Blood mages into the order. If you ask Duncan about magic during the Mage origin, he see's blood magic more along the lines of 'Grey magic'. Which basically means, he knows it's considered terrible and evil, but so is the Darkspawn, and he only cares for one of them.
