A nice talk? The first of the three to sleep. A collab between J8cob and Lesli. Summary : Katsuko Moto has been summoned on the orders of Meisa Ichi to meet her at the Intelligence Division HQ. There the rest of the Ghost ANBU must report for their duties. With Katsuko disguised entering the place, he is then told where he can meet the assistant of the Hokage. His first hour as Ghost ANBU is going to start.
Meisa was patiently waiting in the closed chamber. It was kind of a dull thing, in her opinion. The walls were grey and void of any decorations. With only a table and three chairs, you couldn't call the room really comfy or pleasant. But then again, the whole Intelligence Division HQ wasn't a pleasant building to be in. The serious and grim atmosphere was there for a good reason. Though Meisa was glad that they had some nice tea mugs. Taking a sip out of her mug, she enjoyed the fresh mint tea with honey. Taking a look at the door, she wondered how long it would take for the first one of the Ghost ANBU to show up. In their records she was kind of impressed, but also surprised that they had the bad habit of getting late with gathering around. Not that it would bother her right now. Only two of the four were needed to be kept in check. Cause only those two had parents and were thus needed to be stalked a bit more than the orphaned ones. Putting the mug down, Meisa leaned with her left elbow on the table as she supported her head. Staring at the wall left of her, she started to think what bad it would do if they would just paint it in a nicer color. Walking through the building, Katsuko didn't even think about how drab it was. He never had an eye for appearances, unlike seemingly everyone else. He just knew where he had to be. What it looked like wasn't even secondary. Not particularly knocking on the door, Katsuko simply walked in. Upon seeing Meisa, he didn't even wait to close the door behind himself before cancelling the transformation. The nerdy looking adult was replaced by the bulky Katsuko, dressed like he was ready to fight. Though, he carried with him a large duffel bag. Seeing two empty chairs instead of just one, he shot a glare at Meisa before letting out a sigh and casually tossing the bag across the room against the wall to his left. "Katsuko Moto, reporting for duty," he announced, walking closer and placing one of his hands on the chair as a sort of support. Though he didn't take his seat. Not yet. Last time he was exactly where she wanted, she put a seal on his heart. So he was obviously wary. "I'm the first one here?" Meisa whiped up a smile on her thin lips as Katsuko came in. When he asked if he was the first one, Meisa sighed. Leaning back on her left hand, she looked rather bored. ''Kind of yes. Though I should suspect that with Team 4 and now with this whole secret ordeal. So can't blame anybody for it.'' Eyeing the young man in front of her with a quick glance, Meisa straighten her back as she would sit up straight and smile again. ''Please, take a seat. If you want, feel free to also take some tea. It is mint with honey. I can really guarantee it will rock your world.'' Laughing a bit about her own joke, Meisa would lean a bit forward as she would cast a curious look in Katsuko's direction. ''May I ask where your friend is?'' Katsuko never really had a taste for tea, so his instinct was to politely decline. But the way she talked about it made him suspicious, and he thus hesitated a moment. His red eyes glanced from the tea mug back to Meisa, and then back to the tea. "No thanks... I don't fancy tea," he responded, in a surprisingly polite tone minus the hesitation. Slowly sitting down in the chair, he was half-prepared that another seal would activate. But it wasn't like he really had much of a choice to deny her request he sit down. But her question surprised him. Was she referring to Hana? Or someone else? "You're going to have to be more specific," Katsuko answered, leaning back in his seat and crossing one of his legs over the other and crossing his arms over his chest. "Believe it or not, I actually have multiple friends." Blinking a few times, as she wasn't sure to believe his words, Meisa placed her right hand in front of her mouth as she let out a short laugh, ''No, no. I should be more specific. My bad! I am truly sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you didn't had that many friends.'' Meisa removed her hand as the smile was different. ''Not that many that are alive these days. But that is a different story. I was more or less implying about your summoning. I would like it to meet her as well.'' Meisa told him, her tone still the same as before. Honeyed sweet, like the tea. His gaze turned into a glare. "Hana..." He thought about it for a moment. It was clear to him why she wanted to meet her. But that presented some problems. Though they are bound by contract, Katsuko always knew he had surprisingly little control over her. Meisa may not know that. But at the same time, maybe she did and has accounted for it? He gulped back some fear, not wanting to summon her into a trap. In a slow movement, Katsuko withdrew a kunai knife from one of his pouches and spun it around. "If you say so..." He made a quick cut across his left palm, before making the handseals and placing his hand on the empty chair next to his. The black summon lines appeared, before a small puff of smoke. Now sitting on the chair, or more properly laying on it, was a sleeping white housecat. "What timing..." Katsuko mumbled to himself, withdrawing his hand and looking back at Meisa. ''That isn't what I had expected.'' Meisa said out loud, looking with a curious look at the cat. Raising her right hand slowly, she snapped her fingers. Frowning, it seemed that she had tried to make the cat awake. But that wasn't the case. ''I am glad that she actually appeared on the chair. Now, don't panic. This is just to make sure you are going to be a good boy.'' Meisa explained as the black lines would appear. On the chairs she had prepared the sealing trap, like last time on the roof of the Hokage Office. Taking a sip of her tea, she glanced towards Katsuko's direction. Sighing out loud after the sip, Meisa kept holding the mug with both hands. ''Now that everything is done and ready, I will have just a small chat with you and her. If you both are nice and polite, I won't need to do anything that can be considered abusive. So, lets start.'' The smile changed again, becoming more wicked for a second. ''Lets start with if you have any questions. I love it when people are curious.~'' After snapping her fingers, Hana slowly began to wake up and stretch. But the cat never finished, before the black lines crawled onto her. The cat let out a hiss, before transforming in a puff of smoke. Now the small woman most commonly recognized as Hana was sitting on the chair backwards, gripping the back of it in pain. All the while she was receiving the same sealing he had before, Katsuko's gaze was on Meisa. Only a slight twitch in his eye gave away that he was bothered by this. Though Hana was in pain, she made no noise. Rather, she about broke the back of the wooden chair from how tightly she held it. "I do have a question," Katsuko said, the moment he saw the opportunity. Hana glanced over at him, scared of what was going on and what happened. "Would you stop talking like that? You aren't fooling anybody here. No point in lying to us or yourself on that one." It was clear that her fake-sweet tone was bothering him, but he didn't budge as he spoke. Only after he finished, he glanced down at Hana. The look in his eyes suggested to her to remain in the chair and not try to flee. ''That wasn't a question. More like a request.'' Meisa huffed as she shook her head. But she had caught the sign that Katsuko had given to Hana. The reaction of the summoning made it clear that she didn't like the progress of the seal. But Meisa personally didn't care less about it. ''As for my tone, I am a bit offended. It just how I prefer to talk. I don't request you to be silent all the time, cause you're dead, do I?'' Meisa asked back. But she wouldn't give him any time to provide her with an answer. ''But if you want to skip the formalities, then I guess I have to deal with it. Now, lets really start with the basics.'' The tone indeed changed as Katsuko requested. Instead of talking with a honeyed tone, it was more cold than before. ''Both of you now have the seal that each Ghost ANBU member has. That and I took some more security measures. Next to the seal that will prevent either of you to move around freely without my permission, I took the liberity to get some people from the Intelligence Division to do some work for me.'' Pausing, Meisa smiled again. Though she did that, the tone was still cold. ''Some should be near the Moto Estate now. After all, we need to be sure that some memories are being kept safe. Seeing we can't just kill families just for the greater good, your mother will be fine. Just like Tsubasa's parents will be fine.'' Meisa again paused as like she wanted to build up a suspense. ''She will just remember things differently.'' With that cryptic end, Meisa took another sip of her tea, allowing Katsuko to reply now. After their situation was explained and Hana now had a basic concept of what was going on, she finally spoke. "Akira..." Looking at who she now perceives as The Mean Lady, Hana turned around completely so as to properly sit in the chair. But Katsuko remained silent a moment longer. "I imagine you take a lot of liberties, don't you?" he said. Though it was joking, his tone suggested he was none too pleased about this new information. "I have developed a new question, Meisa." He closed his eyes for a moment, before leaning his head back to look up at the ceiling. "You spoke of the greater good... What is that to you?" With that, he opened his eyes and brought his gaze from the ceiling straight into her eyes. Though it seemed like a harmless question out of context, Hana could even detect that this was more of an attack than genuine curiosity. The smile vanished. ''What the greater good is to me?'' Meisa repeated. She stayed silent for a few moments. Then she gave him a rather short and simple answer. ''Nothing and everything.'' It would make no sense, she was well aware of that. But she wasn't too lax to not give him a proper reason for why she had given such an answer. ''It is everything, cause the greater good we are probably talking about is the safety and future of the Leaf. The Fire Country and Union. Everybody inside it, that lives in peace with one and another. Though,'' Meisa took a brief second to pauze again. It was like she wanted to give a clear emphasis that she also had a different meaning to it. ''Though it is also nothing. It is like if something is true or not. I can take this even very personally that you might understand that I know a lot more than you thought. Lets take the death of Jinkama for an example to explain what I trying to tell you.'' Knowing that this was a kind of sensitive subject, Meisa would decide to change her tone. Though the seals would keep them both in place from either moving around, thus preventing them to attack her, Meisa wanted to take no actual risks. ''Your father is dead. People would say that is a fact. Yet, I do know a person that claims that he isn't dead. So what is true? Is he dead or isn't he?'' Meisa seemed to ask, but it wasn't a real question. ''You can put it in the same way if there is a greater good or not. It all comes down to the opinion, experience and viewpoint of a person. Maybe you and I have very different ways on how we perceive a greater good, but does it mean yours is right? Or does it mean mine is?'' Meisa then glanced at her tea. ''But if you want a cliché answer from me, I am willing to kill and dirty my hands for the greater good. Some might claim it is because I am from Kirigakure. But the truth is that my sense of loyalty and duty won't allow me to be easy with what I want to protect.'' The orange-haired teenager looked over at Hana, before back at Meisa. "That's a lame answer," he said, before chuckling. This surprised Hana, as she perceived this was no time to be laughing. But he stopped laughing after a few seconds, before clearing his throat politely. "Sorry." A small grin was briefly visible on his face, before his serious expression returned. "That wasn't the answer I was expecting, at any rate." With the more polite clarification up, Katsuko relaxed into his chair some more and uncrossed his arms. "Most of that went over my head anyways. But I can tell you something. The greater good will never be so easily attained. Especially the way you're thinking." But with that, he shrugged his shoulders. "But I could be wrong, so you said yourself." Now he looked at the table and the tea on it. He felt a bit awkward not holding anything, but didn't want to test the contents of the mugs. "Anything else you plan on telling me or are we going to leave off with you wiping my mom's memory?" ''Of course.'' She politely said back when he told her sorry. She didn't show any visible change of expression when he told her that it was a lame answer. Taking calmly another sip of her tea, Meisa waited till he had finished his question. She saw no need to discuss now about the greater good. It even seemed he got what she told him or had been trying to tell him. ''I could spoiler more. That I might need to wipe some memories from your other relatives. None of them will be put in any danger. It will be explained that it has to do with the mission you had been on. The one where you died. With that, they can't really reject it as it after all for the security of the state. Unless one of your relatives tries to make it clear that they deem themselves more important than the hundreds or thousands of other people who live in the same country.'' She said. ''I am also going to introduce you two to some people of the Intelligence Division. I need to be sure that you didn't had any bad thoughts when you came here. Though from what I have been told, there is no pain involved with reading one's mind. Kind of am a bit envious that a clan like the Yamanaka kept their Hidden technique so well of a secret. You know, I once had my interest in studying it.'' One of Katsuko's hands went to his face as he shook his head. "You clearly don't know my family..." he muttered. He could already foresee Keiko causing a problem. He wasn't bothered much by the thought of her losing her cool, but the results she may get for doing so in this situation. He slowly let his hand fall off his face as he looked back at Meisa. So she was going to read their minds. Fantastic. He could already imagine how useless that would be on Hana, but a thought occured to him. A grin formed on his face. "I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me," Katsuko remarked, leaning back in his chair again. "I do have to relate a bit with you here." This surprised Hana, and she looked back over at Katsuko now. His arms moved to relax behind his head. He looked surprisingly casual now, though his irises were still notably red. "I once had an interest in reading minds, too. But try as I might, I never could do it out of sheer willpower nor stealing from the Yamanaka. I did, however, learn a few tricks along the way." The grin vanished as he looked back at Meisa. "It's not always that hard to read someone's mind." ''You don't say?'' Meisa replied, putting the mug down. She seemed to think about something as her eyes went up, to glance at the ceiling. Not that there was something hidden or anything to see. ''I wonder then what we can talk about when I know more about your mind. I do know that you're kind of off with some assumptions. But then again, you lack the resources to provide you with detailed information. Like I would have. Or the hokage.'' The smile re-appeared on her lips as she would briefly flash the smile towards him. ''But I don't want to give you any false directions. Though I don't mind a bit of a game, there is sadly little time for that. I hope that is clear?'' Katsuko raised an eyebrow. "I get it." He looked over at Hana now. She was still clearly gripped by some sort of fear. Perhaps thinking that she would receive that sealing again, somehow. "Relax," he instructed her, using a surprisingly soothing voice. Something that Meisa likely never heard up until that point. Upon hearing that and seeing Katsuko at least appeared to be somewhat calm, Hana took a deep breath and tried to settle herself down. With that handled, Katsuko looked back at Meisa. "Gonna go through our heads, understood. Where are those guys?" Katsuko spoke up, taking his original tone now as he sarcastically looked around the mostly empty room. ''Patience. Some might say it is a virtue, but I wouldn't go that far with it. But it is important.'' She told him on his question where the ''guys'' were. Meisa was first wondering if he meant the members of Team 4, the other ones. She was half tempted to tell him that he wouldn't see them for today. If anything, Meisa wouldn't bring them together. A bunch of rude, smart-ass and puberity-under-going people together? That was asking for problems that Meisa wasn't interested in having. ''I hope you're not too anxious to get started. It will take some time until we really can call you a Ghost. The dying is just one part. There are two more phases that you will need to pass before you can consider yourself one.'' Meisa told him. Then a knocking against the door would sound. ''And what a wonderful timing! Wouldn't have it done better myself.'' Clapping with her hands, like she was getting excited, Meisa said out loud that they could come in. Four men came in the room, taking a position behind Katsuko and Hana. But with some distance between them. ''Now, like I said, we don't have time for everything. So thought this might be a bit crass, I hope you all don't mind.'' Meisa pointed to both Katsuko and Hana. ''They are the ones that are suspected of having comitted the murder. I want a full report on what they have been thinking about the higher ups. No need to search through what they have seen. I want to know what they thought and maybe saw yesterday. From around 14 PM till now.'' Meisa ordered. Still, the four men stayed on their place. Then Meisa nodded. ''You two will have a brief moment where you will pass out. Nothing to worry, I will be here to make sure that nothing bad will happen.'' Meisa told them, sounding rather genuine. And she meant it. While two of the four would walk forward, Meisa would lock her eyes on Katsuko and his summoning. A frown formed on Katsuko's face as Meisa explained everything. Her last comment particularly bothered him. He didn't trust her, and she would soon know that if the Yamanaka behind him was halfway capable at the order he was given. The teenager let out a sigh, figuring that no matter what he did, there was no real way he could escape having to explain himself when it's all said and done. But an idea came to him and a grin formed on his face. While Hana was still nervous, more so about the fact she would be rendered unconscious in the same room the Mean Lady was in, Katsuko seemed to find some entertainment value. He nodded his head in confirmation of Meisa's orders, before making one last thought as clear as possible in his mind before the Yamanaka would go through it. If they touch a hair on my mother's head, I will bring down a vengeance unseen. And I cannot be stopped. With that last, distinguished thought for the Yamanaka to read, Katsuko kept his grin as he accepted his fate of being read like an open book. Calmly waiting for the Yamanaka's to be done, Meisa kept staring at the two. After some time, around ten or fifteen minutes, the two took a step back. Then they started to sum up what they had learned. This took around ten minutes each while one other wrote it down. Once this whole ordeal was done, Meisa stretched out her left arm to take the notebook, where the notes had been written on. ''You all did a great job. I will be able to continue from here.'' Meisa ordered. With a small bow, the few men left and closed the door behind them. Calmly reading through the notes, Meisa started to hum. ''Seems that you find me a smart bitch? That is rather rude and almost a compliment.'' Meisa said with the earlier honeyed tone. She kept reading through the notes and then placed the notebook on the table. This time her eyes were focused on Hana. ''You. I will be a bit harsher. Without any consult, I will order the ANBU after this to erase your memories. Most of them. I will make sure that you will keep those who will be useful.'' Meisa told Hana on the honeyed tone. A smile started to appear on her thin lips as she turned her attention to Katsuko. A real puber. Even while his life could be over within a moment, he was trying to amuse himself. Or trying to taunt her in any way possible. It was a shame that he wasn't more like Tsubasa for an example. Loyal and obedient, with knowing his place. ''I will or will not erase yours. This is all done because you and the others know are part of a what most would call a dark secret. In order to be an efficient force for the Hokage, this treatment will happen. Not for any personal goals or opinions. If you both have to say something, I would like to hear it now. It might change.. your future.'' Meisa's tone went colder and coler with each word she spoke to them. Waiting patiently for them to progress the words and the consquences of what would might happen, she was actually glad that she had trapped them in a seal to bind and hold them in place. Though maybe the few ANBU guards outside was maybe a bit too much. Only would be helpful if one of the two would start to scream or shout. Then the plan to close the hall would start, in order to make sure that people wouldn't catch a thing of what was going on. The prospect of losing her memories again mortified Hana. "No..." she managed to get out, before attempting to jump from the chair. However, she found her body would not move the way she wanted it to, and she began to struggle. Katsuko, on the other hand, simply frowned as Meisa explained. "I could've told you my thoughts if you had just asked," Katsuko commented first, before crossing his arms. Then there was a notable change in his tone. "Don't wipe her memories. You can wipe mine instead." This shocked Hana, and she stopped struggling to look over at her master. "She's gone through enough with amnesia. And she isn't a problem to begin with. I could've sworn I was the more problematic one of the new Ghosts you've hired. Or at least that's the impression I've felt." He closed his eyes for a moment, before continuing. "Taking it out on my summon will grant you nothing. You have more to gain by letting her remember. When she still had amnesia, she was weaker than she is now. She had forgotten the things that gave her strength." Now he opened his eyes again. Though there was still anger in his eyes, the irises had changed to violet. "If you really want what is best, you might want to reconsider your plan." Meisa listened to Katsuko, but she looked displeased when the boy told her that she should reconsider her plan. ''Why should I? Being close to the Hokage might be that you will grow more stronger in another way than most think. You will also need to be truly loyal and though this might be wrong, I think that there is little right and wrong. My personal belief is that the end matters more than how I will reach it. If this must be done to protect the Hokage and the Fire Union better, then it isn't a wrong plan or action.'' Meisa said. ''Though I find your ''sacrifice'' quite admiring, I feel the need to say that I have little to say in it. Personally, I would not erase too much or not make it look like I am taking it out on your summoning, but that isn't the case. Somebody else will chose your fate. A person you are quite familiar with. I think she is even a niece of yours, in some way.'' Meisa waited to see if he would get the hint before she would explain more on how things would go from now. His gaze turned into a glare. "People that can't distinguish between right and wrong will never achieve their goals," Katsuko said rather coldly, before looking over at Hana. He tried to give her a reassuring expression, but Hana was beginning to panic again. "I need to get out of here," she mumbled to herself as she struggled to free herself of the chair. With a sigh, Katsuko looked back to Meisa. "Are you telling me that Kiyomi is in charge of this, not you?" Katsuko asked, keeping his cold voice. "Or at least implying that she has authority of not only me but also my friends? That is the most illogical thing I've heard you say so far." He let out a scoff, making it clear he wasn't joking. "You talked before about how beliefs and opinions didn't really matter because in the end they are more less only relevent to one person. So you have to wonder if your brand of justice is wise. Self doubt is natural. The people that don't have it are doomed." Raising her left eyebrow slowly, Meisa let the boy finish. Then she answered him with a calm tone. ''You are judging while just knowing one piece. This one of the reasons why it is wiser to erase some experiences, memories and what not. The ANBU isn't a world where one can always agree with their leader. It is where you need to be loyal enough to follow the orders of the higher ups. Even when you dislike them, only follow them because you know what they do is done in the greater good. At least that is how most would call it.'' Meisa raised her chin a bit to make it like she was looking down on Katsuko. ''Your niece's part won't be of her liking, I think that will be something easy to predict. Seeing that from now on you and the others will be placed and hold here, I will fully explain what I meant and what the plan is. I think that it will become more clear on how ignorant and arrogant your comment was.'' Placing both her elbows on the table, Meisa's hands folded together as she stared at Katsuko. ''She wanted to become the apprentice and possibly next Hokage. A nice dream, but unlike many think, not a very easy one. Not because you need certain traits, but you need to make decisions. Though you can go on that this playing with lives or throw it on the whole illogical part, it serves a purpose. A leader need to sometimes chose between people that need to be sacrificed. That is the excact reason why a shinobi is being regarded as a tool, a weapon.'' Pausing, Meisa's tone became softer. ''We will force her to chose between you and two of your friends. One of them will suffer less, but the other two that won't be chosen will get more thoughts and memories erased. Why this is done? Like I explained,'' Meisa said. ''Sacrifices need to happen in order for growth. Else there will be no progress. Call and say what you want, but it will be a waste of your breath.'' Leaning back, she pointed to Hana. ''If you go against that, your words are nothing more than warm air. You were willing to convince me to leave your summoning alone and to erase your mind. If you would compare her as the Fire Union, then its the same. You were loyal and caring enough to make a sacrifice as big as this for her. If you were willing to do that, you should have no problem to do that for the Leaf. For your... mother.'' His glare remained as Meisa explained the situation. "So you're telling me..." Katsuko began, irritation clear in his voice, "That we have to go through this stupid memory erasal thing as a part of a challenge for her? That there is literally no point but proving a point?" Katsuko shook his head. "Now I understand Kiyomi a bit more. I can see what her real problem is. It's not her attitude, it's the people she associates with." He let out a sigh, not particularly caring about the tone he was taking with this woman. "You don't give a damn about the things I have to say because you've already forsaken your humanity in the name of the greater good. But... You said before that it's only an opinion. There is no such thing as the greater good if what you said before was true. So are you lying to me or are you lying to yourself?" Now his glare had a clear animosity in it. "You might think my life, Hana's life, or mother's life are but names on paper or pawns in a game. But you've already lost what you wanted. Believe it or not, I know a thing or two about politics. It came with listening to my father's infinite stories." "I only heard about until now, but it has become increasingly clear why he never wanted to be Hokage." He let his harsh glare drift toward Hana, who was still struggling. "Hana, just give up on that for now. It'll be fine." His tone had once again softened for that brief moment, enough to stop the cat girl from squirming anymore. Then he brought his attention back to Meisa. "I don't sacrifice anything," he said blatantly, though his harsh tone was still gone. "I give. I shed my blood, sweat, and tears for what I care about. But you look at the village differently than I do. I don't fight to protect Konoha itself. It's just a place. A location. It's the people I care about that drives me to act. The bonds I have. I will never have a bond with an inanimate object like I will with family and friends." He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. "But let me guess... my words are ignorant and mean nothing. Your plans will move forward. If I keep this up, trouble will surely befall me. Right?" ''Not really. Though I have my opinion on them, you might hit.. what you could a sensitive snare.'' Meisa told him on a calm fashion. There was no expression that revealed anything of her thoughts. Only her dark eyes starting at his and her tone being calm. ''It might sound stupid or idiotic as some might agree with you, but never the less it is something that needs to be done. If you wish to blame me or some other people for her behavior, that is your decision. She volunteers to learn what means to become a Hokage. That means that she should learn that there is a less pleasant side. As we all need to learn about being a shinobi.'' Meisa stated. Looking away for a moment, there was a change in the way her eyes looked. Like some sort of sadness. ''I must be honest that it hurts to hear you say that I have forsaken my humanity for the ''greater good'. Maybe you're right.'' She sounded softer. ''And maybe I explain it in way that somebody could do better. However,'' The sadness vanished as she turned her head to look back at Katsuko. ''You know too little on the things that are moving and just judge on what is front of you. You barely question somebody's reason on why they act and just judge on their actions. That is the surface. I thought it was clear that somebody of my position can't tell anything that has been selected as a high classified secret. Something that most people can't bear to know. That is one of the sacrifices we higher ups make. To understand the mad thought that you know something wrong is being done and while you're against it, to accept it. You may say that your father had his good reasons, but I doubt it. I even start to wonder if your father was really honest with you. Cause I dont' want to break it to you, but a lot of decisions that may be far darker and worse have been decided while he had some influence. Decisions that are probably far worse than this. So before you start to break down something of which you see the surface, I suggest you put your current time to better use. I am giving you the chance to talk now with still your memories and everything else intact. I even was willing to propose a last kind of wish when you won't remember your mother or anybody that you once loved. The choice is up to you. Either you start to think and make use of this talk to converse about something useful. Or we will continue to waste our time on how we both view on this whole process. Though its obvious that I know more and you can only see the surface. Katsuko Moto, your choice.'' Meisa said. Her voice was still calm, but she looked with a more stern look in his direction. She did doubted if he would take up the chance to talk about he would want as last kind of wish or something like that. It did brought up the talk with Suzume. Would he start to rant on how he would find this unjust or stupid? Meisa started to wonder as well about Jinkama. She held some respect to him, but after now meeting his son, her opinion was lowered. If this was the child the man had raised, Meisa had expected too much of his son. It was clear that debating with this woman was going to go nowhere. Katsuko let out a scoff. "You already know what my last wish is." Hana looked up at Katsuko. She could detect defeat in his voice, even though he sounded basically the same. "Your people leave my family alone and Hana keeps her memories. That's my last wish. Do what you will after that fact." He brought his gaze back up to Meisa slowly. "Oh, and one last thing. Not really a request or anything..." The violet irises visibly changed back to red. "Don't ever suggest my father lied to me. I may not be smart, or wise, or see the bigger picture. But I know who he was." With that, he closed his eyes and leaned his head back to face the ceiling again. "Then again, I suppose it wouldn't matter what you said after you wipe my memory. Just humor me while I still have it." A light chuckle escaped him as he realized how defeated he really was here. "Just make sure you keep your word and I can't really complain anymore." Thinking about it, Meisa shook her head. ''Sorry, but I can't promise that she will keep all her memories. If it is of any comfort, I will place her in the same league as Tsubasa. But I fear that in order to keep your family protected that she can't escape it. I say that cause the unit will be probably catch some fame. If there will be a link made to somebody, that could prove to be a problem.'' Meisa explained, though she was sure that he would still wish for Hana to not suffer the treatment. ''However, I can follow the promise of keeping your family alone. I think that they already lost enough with you gone. That is why I first only wished for Ryo Katsu and Yumi Hasewaga, as they both are orphans.'' Meisa became slowly softer with her voice. Then her curiosity got the better of her. ''You seem like a loyal and caring person, but I haven't heard you asking something for your friends. Why is that if I may ask for the reason.'' Katsuko frowned, but remained quiet. At least she would be able to mostly keep to her word. But her last part surprised him, and he brought his gaze back down to her. Except his look was one of confusion. But after a moment, he had a realization and a cocky grin formed on his face. "Why?" he began, uncrossing his arms. "They're like me, in a way. Strong, loyal, caring. But I don't need to ask anything about them because I already know for a fact..." He brought his hand back, pointing his thumb at his chest. "After this has started, we will all have each other's backs again. Even without my memories, I'll be taking care of them." His grin began to fade as he brought his hand away from his chest. "My only concern..." He glanced away at the wall, before looking back at Meisa. "Is that they have to go through what I do. But perhaps I might be able to take the short stick so they don't have to. I don't need... my memories to keep them alive." She wondered. He seemed to be so sure of his words, but she had a different opinion and look on it. ''I find the way you look at the situation admiring. I truly do.'' She told Katsuko on a friendly, honest tone. ''A bit naive, but that is because of my own experiences as a kunoichi. Probably we have grown up in two different worlds and for that reason, our view on many things are very different.'' It was kind of ironic in Meisa's opinion. She looked at Hana for a moment. ''I wonder what your friends will request and if they will mention you. To be honest, I am a shadow clone. The talk we have been through is happening right now with the others.'' She seemed to think, half closing her eyes as she kept staring at Hana. ''I wonder if they will show the same view, wanting to pull the shortest stick in order to prevent that everybody else will be spared.'' Meisa stated, questioning thus the other members of Team 4. Even though she was aware of how the dynamic was in the group, she had her doubts if they would all think about each other like this. ''From what I also heard, is that you spend your last day alive with your family. And it might get personal, but I am already aware what the others did. Want to hear what their day was?'' Katsuko looked at Hana, since for some reason Meisa seemed fixated on her. But her last question dragged his attention back to her. "You're going to wipe my memory," he said, rather simply. "I'll forget it. But the next time I see them, they can tell me themselves. Assuming my personality doesn't change too much." He closed his eyes and let out a sigh. He was curious, definitely. But he had a spiteful desire to not give in to her words. "They probably will. Take the shortest stick, that is." "But don't let them." Hana looked over at Katsuko now. She was already quite upset and confused by everything, and things seemed to be going downhill so fast she hardly understood any of it. But she already got the fact Katsuko would have his memory wiped in her place. But now he was making sure there was no way out of it? "Katsuko..." she muttered, getting his attention. "If you really do lose your memories..." Katsuko glanced back at Meisa for a moment, before looking back at Hana. A smirk formed on his face and he reached over, putting his hand on her head. "Don't worry about it. It's not like it will unwind everything that's happened. You're still family. Everything that happened still exists. Nothing to worry about." He offered her a smile, but she was still uncomfortable. She didn't believe him, in a way. Looking up at Meisa, Hana had the urge to talk to the Mean Lady but bit her tongue. Seeing she had nothing else to say, Katsuko retracted his hand and looked back at Meisa. "I don't aim to be admired, Meisa," Katsuko stated, referring to something she said before. "I'm just uncompromising." A grin formed on his face, but it wasn't one of confidence. It was more like a mask, to hide sadness. ''And I didn't mean to compliment you, to be blunt. It was to make it clear that I haven't forsaken yet all of my humanity as you have put it.'' Meisa calmly replied. Slowly she smiled as she thought about it. ''I am also sorry to say, but after this, you won't see your comrades. By the time you will be seeing them, the memory will be altered or wiped.'' Meisa told him. ''And though you'r right that it might be trivial to see any value now in saying something or wishing for something cause I can easily say that you never told me it. And then have both of you not able to remembered it. However,'' Meisa paused as she thought on how to phrase the next part. ''Though you both won't remember this, it doesn't mean that it won't have any meaning. Even somebody with as little humanity can see and understand that. Though I can't afford to give you a moment of your own, if you both want to say some things to each other, I suggest to do it now. It.. might be the last time you're capable of doing that.'' Meisa said with a soft tone. Hardly a second after Meisa finished talking, Hana had something to say. "Katsuko! Don't do it. I don't want you to forget me, or your mother or Keiko or any of that. That's not right," she immediately began, trying to reach for Katsuko. Though, unlike him, her arms were too short to grab him. Despite the clear emotion in her voice, Katsuko remained silent for a moment. "It'll work out fine in the end," he said simply. But Hana didn't wait for him to explain. "You can't just give it all up now! I can have my memory wiped. It's happened before. Most of it isn't important anyways. Katsuko, you need to-" Katsuko raised a hand to silence her. "None of this is right or fair, I know. But you've already had to suffer through this before. I don't think I've had my share of suffering, so I'll take it. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's taking hits for others. Just..." A smile formed on Katsuko's face. "Don't forget about me and it will be fine. If you forget, you have no excuse like having your memory wiped." He looked over at Hana now. Tears were welling up in her eyes. "But Kat..." He shook his head. "But nothing. Don't worry about it. You'll be fine. I'll be fine. Just have some faith in me." She sniveled a bit, before bringing up a hand to wipe tears out of her eyes. "But..." Katsuko looked over at Meisa now. "I hope you enjoy this, because it must suck to watch if you don't," he said sarcastically, before chuckling a bit and looking back at Hana. "Just calm down a bit Hana." He moved his hand to hold hers, gripping it tight to reassure her. "I've got this." At this point, Hana was no longer sobbing and instead seemed on the verge of bawling. But Katsuko let go of her hand and crossed his arms as he looked back at Meisa. But he didn't say anything. Looking displeased, Meisa thought about what he had said. He thought that she would like this? Tearing apart friends and family? To make people suffer? Just because it would do some good to the state? Deciding to keep her emotions surpressed, Meisa calmly responded back. ''I can easily say that I don't care less about you or her. That I only care about the future of the state, but I have recently become a mother. I would be torn apart, driven mad and what not if something like this would happen. So I hope you understand that you're again being ignorant.'' Meisa calmly stated. Probably he was a tough cookie to deal with. If he really thought like he could just base facts and what not on what he saw, then her opinion of Jinkama was really too high. But out of respect, she would keep that to herself. That and it would only anger Katsuko, which would add nothing of value to the whole conversation. While Hana began crying, Katsuko let out a scoff at Meisa's words. "I doubt it," he told her simply. "If you really understood, with that motherly instinct I've heard about, then this would be different." But he shrugged his shoulders after that. "But what do I know? I'm not a mother, nor will I ever become one. I could be wrong, and I hope I am." He closed his eyes and clenched his teeth. It seemed he was unable to pretend he didn't notice Hana for very long. "Could you just get it over with now? The longer it takes the worse it will be for her." He spared a glance at Hana, before closing his eyes again. "Save your philosophies for someone that will understand them. Just do it." So that was it. Meisa raised both her hands as she clapped with them. With that done, she placed her hands on her lap as four ANBU would enter the room. Closing the door behind them, they made a small bow towards Meisa, while saying nothing. ''They are guilty of the crime. I want them to be knocked out and kept in that state until I can pass a fitting judgement on them. Make sure that when you take the two, that nobody will see even a glimpse or a hint of them.'' Glancing back at Katsuko, Meisa wondered about something. Rising up from her seat, her face stayed neutral. But her eyes were telling a different story. ''I wish I could say sorry, but like you said. I have forsaken that humanity a long time ago. May our next and last conversation be... a bit more of your liking and level.'' Though it could be an insult, Meisa had a neutral tone. The two ANBU that had taken a position behind Hana and Katsuko would put a piece of cloth at the mouth of the two. Keeping her eyes locked with Katsuko, Meisa would wait until both of them were knocked out cold. That done, she sighed and placed a hand against her forehead. ''Everything alright, Lady Meisa-san?'' An ANBU asked as Meisa looked a bit pale. Flashing a warm smile, the woman nodded once. ''Yes, I will be fine. I shall now brief the original of what has happened here.'' That said, the shadow clone of Meisa made the signal to dispell herself. Just when the ANBU would cover both Katsuko and Hana in order to transport them away.
