The second one. Ryo's first assignment. The Swift's last desire. A collab between Gerontis and Lesli. Summary : Quite the same as the previous post. Only now with Ryo Katsu.
He walked through the hall. He was kind of nervous, but with the disguise and knowing he shouldn't be afraid, Ryo kept on walking. By now his summoning should've brought the will to Midori. The name alone made Ryo feel bad. Very bad. He didn't want it to end like this. He rather not have it end in any kind of way, but sadly this was reality. That and he had one day to live, but nobody to share a day with. Nobody would likely miss him. Kensuke would carry on. Midori would carry on. No siblings or parents that would think about him. Nobody. He would be a leaf, fallen off a tree. Fallen to the ground. Then simply rot and turn to nothing. Nothing that would remember people of Ryo Katsu. That thought was kind of disturbing him, but he accepted it. He had a good time with the others, even if would turn out that they cared less about it than he did. He could remember the days with Team Sayomi. How he first tried to compete with his team members, but became friends with them. To the point he even started to see Katsuko as a kind of sibling. Even while the jerk vanished for quite some time. But then there was Kensuke. His older brother kind of friend. The one that had always been open to talk and spend time with Ryo. A person he also saw as a brother. And then Tsubasa. Tsubasa, he smirked a bit. She always had treated him with respect. Even from the start, something that Ryo had always been grateful for. Yes, he had nothing to complain about. Even if he would be the only one who would remember it, he loved the memories. Hopefully.... the others would cherish them as well. Walking towards the door, Ryo knocked on it. Waiting patiently on it, he tried to clear his mind so he would act calm and reasonable. Kensuke would likely joke about that. Or Tsubasa would. ''Come in.'' Meisa said. She sat on a wooden chair. In a rather barren looking room. The grey walls were quite annoying as she couldn't focus on any point of feature that she found interesting. What was interesting about a grey wall that had now windows or decorations. With Ryo entering in a disguise, Meisa nodded towards the seat and said nothing. Behind the boy, the door would be closed by an ANBU. Wondering who it was, Meisa kept smiling towards the disguised person. The door was closed behind him. With a quick glance, Ryo noticed that it was an ANBU. So it seems that they might be worried that we will try to fight our way out if we don't agree. Though with that damn seal inside of me. His left hand went to his stomach as the transformation technique was dispelled. Still standing, Ryo stared at Meisa. For some reason he saw her and Hisoka now as the end of the time he had been happy. A time that was like a golden age for him. A time he wanted to dwell longer in. ''Good day. I was requested to come here.'' Ryo made a small and polite bow towards the Hokage Assistant. ''Please take a seat.'' Meisa gestured to the chair as she would wait for him to sit down. There were two mugs, filled with tea. And a plate with some biscuits on it. ''Ryo Katsu, am I correct? I bid you welcome. Sorry that the room isn't much... of a comfort looking living room. But I hope you understand that it is needed to have a talk here.'' Meisa said with a very friendly tone. She was wondering how the boy would react. Though she was also a shadow clone, she was still curious on what the thoughts were of Ryo. Taking a seat, Ryo tried to stay calm. He knew that panicking or resisting would only result in pain, disappointment and despair. Three things he didn't want to experience now. Briefly he thought about Katsuko and the others. Would Kat think about him? Would Yumi or Tsubasa do that? Or would he only be wondering about how they were? That was a sad thought. But he couldn't blame them for that. Maybe he had overestimated his friendship? Typical for him to do such a thing. ''I understand. And before we start, may I say something at first?'' Ryo asked with a soft tone. His hands were placed on his lap, clenched into shaking fists. He wasn't angry, but more scared. Meisa blinked a few times with her eyes. They had barely begun, but the boy wanted to already ask something? Not seeing a true problem with that. ''Please, go ahead.'' She friendly answered, though her curiosity grew. What would he ask or request? Meisa leaned a bit back in her chair as she would examine the boy more. She kind of assumed he would make a problem about the whole deal if he would learn what would happen. ''I-I... I want to make the request if ... Kensuke Nimatsu... and Midori Sato of the Cloud .... I mean.'' Ryo started. He knew that he would be asking a lot. But what could he do else? His life wasn't his own anymore. Was it ever his? He had been a shinobi for all his life, so maybe freedom was a mere illusion? Trying to focus, he lowered his head. ''What I want to ask if is... in case I can.. if they can be kept an eye on. I know that it is probably not possible with Midori Sato... but I want...'' Something fell on the fists of Ryo. Tears. One by one they kept falling on his trembling hands. Crying was the last thing he wanted to do, but it was too late. And honestly, he didn't care. ''I want them to be happy... without me. Can you...'' ''Calm down.'' Meisa said with a soft tone. She was very surprised by the request of the boy and touched. She had though he would be more like Katsuko. Trying to mock her or everything else that boy had done. However, it seemed that Ryo started with this. Though aware that it could change if he would learn about what would happen, Meisa was honestly touched by the genuine sign of how much he seemed to care about these two persons. ''I think you want this to be done in a quick way?'' She asked, wondering what his answer would be. Ryo said nothing, thinking about that she hadn't answered him. Did that mean his request would be in vain? He had to try to ask it until she would give him an answer. But he would however cooperate. ''Yes please. As quick as possibly can.'' Ryo answered. He looked up after whipping the tears away. The others would most likely scoff, joke or frown upon seeing him cry already. The talk had barely start and there he was. Crying. ''I want to... get over this as quick as possible.'' It was his choice, but somewhere Meisa pitied the boy. He was an orphan, but one without any sibling or other relationship of blood. Thus that meant he would be a perfect choice for a Ghost. One that would really be able to disappear from everybody's mind and memory. ''We will have a short talk. I will allow you to make a request. After letting somebody read your mind, I will allow you to make up a request. Then you will be taken away, cause your memories will be mostly wiped out. To ensure that most secrets and personal ambitions are gone. For the safety of the Hokage and the Fire Union.'' Meisa explained in a very short version. She wondered what he was thinking, but she would allow him to reply. His memories wiped out? No! That was not something he wanted. He wanted to raise himself up, to run out of the door, but he found himself incapable of doing so. His own body held him in place. He had already pledged an oath. Would he break it? That would most likely disgust and disappoint Kensuke. Feeling the tears well up, Ryo cursed mentally. He was weak. All this training and experience in the field had helped him nothing. Here he was, mister crybaby. Sitting in a dull room with the knowledge that would soon be erased. A fate that he would never accepted and here he was! Accepting it. ''I-I....'' He fell silent. He wondered what the others would have said. He could picture Katusko trying to be brave or something. Trying to probably use his physical strength or trying to act smart. Tsubasa likely being worried. But worried about them or herself and her family? Yumi was probably more worried about herself. Maybe any family? Ryo wasn't too sure about that. What did he after all know? Wait. He had to focus. If he was going to down memory lane and trying to figure out what everybody was thinking he could already see Kensuke's face. He would facepalm, only because to see his former team member thinking so weakly. Gaining some strength of thinking of his best friend like that, Ryo spoke again. ''I accept my fate. If this is going to happen and I may make a request... I want that my connection with Midori Sato will be left alone. That Kensuke Nimatsu.... will never be treated as a-a-a hostage of any village. And... that-t-that he will...'' He couldn't say it. He didn't want to say it. Kensuke should be happy, like everybody else. That had always been his goal, to make his friends happy and that they were safe. Kensuke, I am so sorry. Midori, please... don't hate me. Ryo thought, wanting to picture a nice memory of him and them. He however saw himself and Kensuke, where the latter made a joke and caused Ryo to work up. How he hadn't been able to kiss Midori. Not the best memories he could think off. ''I think that you're a real genuine and caring person. To be honest, we kept an eye on everybody and already concluded that your message wasn't a threat to Konohagakure. So we will leave this Midori Sato alone. Kensuke Nimatsu hasn't been treaten as a hostage and will be treaten as a true citzen of Konohagakure. You have my word on that.'' Meisa said, sounding polite and friendly. Only the last line was said with a very serious tone. It was actually very sad to see the young man like this. According to his profile, he had started as an orphan and being a troublemaker at first. Then with effort making friends and such. All to lose them because he was regarded good enough to be Ghost ANBU material. ''I guess that I should be happy with that compliment. Though I would normally not be happy with people stalking me, I am glad. Ken deserves some rest...maybe he will get some without me bothering him.'' He mumbled the last sentence. Yes, maybe this was better. At least now he couldn't make Kensuke look as a fool if people would find out that Kensuke Nimatsu was friends with a sad little orphan kid, that though he had any real bonds. He hoped that Kensuke would earn his rest from any troubles he had made. It would only be fair for the time that Kensuke had been nice to him. The same counted for Midori. She deserved somebody better. Not a sad pathetic person that was now thinking low of himself on probably the last day that he had every memories that were his. ''I will make sure it will be quick.'' Meisa said as she snapped her fingers of her left hand. With that, two men came walking in. Taking both a position at the flanks of Ryo, Meisa ordered them to search his memories until yesterday. One of the man placed a hand at the top of Ryo's head. Meisa stared at Ryo, but she saw him smiling. Then she was shocked. ''I.... loved my life.... Thanks... everybody.'' It was nothing more than a whisper before the Yamanaka started to read the mind of Ryo. Placing her head in her hands, Meisa leaned forward. The one that read Ryo's mind started to state up while the other was taking notes on a notebook. All the while, Meisa kept her head in her hands. She heard what being said, but what she suspected was being told. Ryo had been thinking about others and spend the day alone. Writing a good bye kind of letter towards Midori, with a summoning seal to summon his katana. Once it was done, Meisa made a gesture that the two could leave while Ryo would ''awaken'' from the technique. ''I am sorry.'' Meisa mumbled to the boy in front of her. She really felt awful to hear something like this. While she thought that she could handle it, it was a bit too much. Ryo frowned as he only understood it later. He chuckled. ''It is okay. You're just doing what you have been told. And I accepted my fate. It is not like the things would have never existed when I can't remember them. Kensuke, Midori and maybe some others will think and remember them. I might sound a bit selfish, but I hope they will do. And that they will smile when they do so.'' Ryo told Meisa. He looked at the mug. Slowly he took the mug with both hands. ''Cause I hope they will continue to smile and laugh a lot. That would make me tru-'' She grabbed one of his wrists. ''Please wait with drinking the tea. I don't want you get knocked out yet.'' Meisa told him. It was now crystal clear that the tea was rigged, so to say. Releasing his wrist, Meisa looked with a serious gaze towards Ryo. ''Aren't you worried about what might happen to you or anything that will happen?'' Meisa asked, but she was now sure that her assumption would be right. Surprised, Ryo wouldn't bring the mug to his lips. Staring at the content of the mug, he heard the question. Placing the mug down, he sighed out loud. ''I am. But then again,'' The usual grin appeared on Ryo's lips. ''I am a member of Team 4, the Swift. The one that tried to follow the Green Falcon on his flight. If I worry too much, I will never be able to become swift enough to keep up with the pride falcon his flight.'' He said with pride in his voice as he also tried to make him look a bit bigger by adjusting his pose. ''I am ready to take on everything that will be thrown at me. Cause that is my way. I will not say something cheesy as that I will never give up, but I sure as oi oi hell will not forsake my path.'' Meisa wasn't sure how she could continue. She had faced a whole long conversation with Katsuko, but it seemed that it wouldn't matter what Ryo would hear. His choice was already made. One she had deep respect for. A true friend, caring for the ones he had made a bond with. Wanting to wish them peace and happiness while he would undergo this. Though she didn't want to compare or think about it, Meisa thought about her and Hisoka. Would he do the same for her if he was in Ryo's position? ''I am sorry.'' Meisa placed her head between her hands again. Ryo looked a bit worried at Meisa, but he would slowly place the mug at his lips. It was scary. He knew that she had messed with the tea and yet he still would drink from it. Maybe he was really stupid? Closing his eyes as he tasted the beverage, he thought back. He could see himself with Kensuke again. The latter joking and making Ryo mad. Only a moment later to place a hand on Ryo's head and complimenting him. Kensuke... Thanks. Thanks for everything. Nii-san. While the image faded, Ryo could see Midori. How she had kissed him, even while he hadn't dare to kiss her. Midori... please. Be happy without me. I will miss you, but... I hope you will meet somebody better than me. I love you. Ryo felt how something warm rolled over his cheek. A warm salty tear was rolling over his right cheek as he emptied the mug. Slowly he could see in his mind a group. Tsubasa, who smiled and winked at him. Kensuke who chuckled and gave him a thumbs up. Katsuko who grinned and shook his head, before stretching out an arm for a fist bump. Yumi who had her arms crossed, but nodded in his direction. Matsuri who smiled a bit sheeply and then proceeded to wave in his direction. And much to his surprise Sayomi who stood there. Smiling and apparently proud of him. Feeling a bit sleepy, Ryo however saw how they all turned around and walked away. Laughing and being happy. Just like how he wanted. Trying to sit still, he felt how the world started to shake a bit. Until he felt something warm against his forehead. Huh? His eyes went up to see that Midori hugged him. Closing his eyes, Ryo... felt happy. Meisa held him. She had been in time to prevent he would smack his head against the floor. ''Guards.'' She said with a calm tone, still holding the boy in her arms. The door was opened as one of the ANBU looked inside. ''Yes Lady Meisa?'' The masked man asked. ''Please bring him to where Katsuko is. Like Katsuko, make sure that there won't be any details to be seen. That..'' She paused. ''Be careful with him.'' She said with a softer voice. After the ANBU had done that, Meisa waited for a bit longer. There was a feeling that was creeping up. Deciding it was enough, the woman held a handsignal. Then the shadow clone poofed away.
