Jerus had been humming a soft tune to himself from his childhood before hearing John yell something about something approaching the house. Well, there goes any chance at avoiding being attacked. He had no doubt in his mind that if what John had seen had known they were there, they'd have been attacked well before now, so odds were now they were about to fall under attack. The familiar sound of a blade cutting through flesh only confirmed this and he cursed. So much for any kind of respite after the walk. Rushing to where he'd thought he had heard both John and the sound of flesh being rended, he rounded the corner and stopped, staring for just a moment. He could see that the torso of the bisected creature was on the ground, but it's hand was still grasping John's ankle. He then shifted his attention to the astonished John as he said, "Zombies!?" Jerus didn't get a chance to reply immediately, having to side step one of the shambling creatures and he quickly removed the head from it's shoulders, slicing it in half as it fell to the ground, leaving the corpse unable to function any further. He faced the remaining eight, raising his katana into a ready stance. "Then aim for the head. Hard to function with no brain."
