Makan nodded. "My cave isn't too far," he said. "We can--" He was cut off as an attack came from his right, and he snapped his jaws on a wolf's throat. The canine yelped before the dragon bit straight through the soft part of its neck. Makan tossed the carcass aside, spat out the fur and flesh in his mouth. That would hold the pack back... for now. Makan took off in a northern direction. They were soon going downhill, the wolves trailing just out of eyesight.
