In fact, if you killed a relic user before finding out what his relic is you couldn't tell which of his items was a relic. Sure it could be that shiny knife on his belt, but what about the silver whistle around his neck? But look at those earrings they have? And is that a bell in their saddlebags? What about that belt they've got on? Oh look at the buckles on those boots? Wait, what if its their boots? Oh, you know, it might be one of the fifty coins they've got as well.
