Blaine sent out Ninetails
"[i] Ninetails, the Fox Pokemon. It has nine long tales and fur that gleams gold. It is said to live for 1,000 years. It is very smart and very vengeful. Grabbing one of its many tails could result in a 1,000-year curse.[/i]"

Liam called on Laparas. 
"Ninetails, Toxic!" Blaine called.
"Safeguard!" Liam replied. The blob of poison was flung at Laparas, but failed to affect her. 
"Confuse Ray!"
"Water Gun!" Liam replied. A jet of water issued forth and hit the fox, while at the same time Lapras became confused.
"Sunny Day!" Blaine called.
"Water Gun!" Liam ordered. Lapras hurt herself in confusion. 
"Solar Beam!" Blaine called.
"Parish Song!" Liam called.
Once again, Lapras hurt herself and then took a Solar Beam and was KO'd. Liam replaced her with Hydro, the Blastoise.

"Rain Dance!" Liam called. The intense heat was swapped for a downpour. Ninetails was stuck charging a Solarbeam this turn.
(Rain 1)
"Hydro Pump!" Liam called. Hydro scored a direct hit and KO'd Ninetails, who was swapped for Rhyperior.
"[i]Rhyperior, the Drill Pokemon, and Rhyhorn's fully evolved form. It puts rocks in holes in its palms and uses its muscles to shoot them. Geodude are shot at rare times. Its carapace can withstand volcanic eruptions. [/i]"
(Rain 2)
"Hydro Pump!" Liam called
"Power up Punch!" Blaine replied. Hydro locked his cannons onto Rhyperior as it charged forward. Hydro fired the cannons and knocked Rhyperior back, causing major damage. Rhyperior again ran up and this time made contact.
(Rain 3)
"Water Gun!" Liam called.
'Thunder Fang!" Blaine replied. Rhyperior got to chomp on the Hydro, activating Torrent. The Water Gun then KO'd it. Blaine now called on his final Pokemon, Magmortar.
"[i]Magmortar, the Blast Pokemon. It blasts fireballs of over 3,600 degrees Fahrenheit out of its arms. Its breath also sears and sizzles. It lives in volcanic craters.[/i]"
(Rain 4)
Hydro was worse for ware, but wanted to continue.
 "Magmortar, Sunny Day." Blaine called as Liam called for a Hydro Pump. Hydro missed and the rain became intense heat again. Liam was beginning to burn up and losing his focus. He pulled his shirt off to reveal a grey a-shirt underneath, drenched with sweat.

"Solarbeam." Blaine commanded.
"Quick Hydro Pump!" Liam called.
 In the Intense moment, Hydro learned fired an attack, but it looked different then Hydro Pump, Liam then realized it was Hydro Cannon. It hit Magmortar directly, who then fired Solarbeam and Ko'd Hydro. Liam had one pokemon left. Liam had an Ace left that he did not want to use, but felt he had no other choice. "Aerodactyl!" Liam called on his prehistoric pokemon.
"[i]Aerodactyl, the Fossil Pokemon. This vicious Pokémon is said to have flown in ancient skies while shrieking high-pitched cries.[/i]"

Aerodactyl was wearing the Mega Sone around his neck with the contraption that Liam found in the Mansion. Blaine eyed it suspiciously.
 "Ah, that must be a Mega Stone. There are rumors that research was done on them in the mansion before it burned down." Blaine said.
 "Liam pressed the Keystone on his bracelet. "Aerodactyl, Mega Evolve!" Both stones flew and in a burst of light, Aerodactyl took his Mega form. 
"Magmortar, Solarbeam!
"Double Team!" Liam called. Aerodactyl made several copies of itself, and the Solarbeam hit a copy.

"Magmortar, Fire Blast." Blaine called.
"Aerodactyl, Sandstorm!" The heat was replaced with a sandstorm. The fire attack hit Aerodactyl.

Magmortar was ordered to use Flamethrower and Aerodactyl was commanded to use Aerial Ace. Both attacks hit and Aerodactyl was burned by Flame Body.
(Sand 2)
Both Magmortar and Aerodactyl were worse for ware at this point. They were order to use Fire Blast and Giga Impact respectively. Aerodactyl took the attack and continued to come crashing down on Magmortar. There was an explosion. When the smoke cleared, Aerodactyl was on the floor panting heavily and Magmortar was nowhere to be seen. In a moment, Magmortar rose out of the lava and got back on the stadium floor. He prepared to finish Aerodactyl while it was vulnerable with a Hyper Beam, but fell over KO'd. Liam won and Aerodactyl reverted to his normal form. Liam praised Aerodactyl for the hard work and returned it. Blaine walked over and told him: "I have one last riddle for you."
"What is it?" Liam inquired.
'What Flame is always cool to the touch?"
"The Volcano badge." Liam said with a smirk.
 "You're right kid." Blaine said handing Liam the Badge. Blaine stepped out to his healing machine and healed the six Pokemon who battled. He returned Liam's Pokemon to him as well as got a bottle of water for him, one for Liam, and one for Shiranui. Liam thanked him and began to drink the water as he took spot on the sidelines.
