They hadn't gotten too far, so the trip back wasn't that long once they got going. Once in front of the Apples' home, Granyl noticed an elderly earth-pony by the door. He had seen some older ponies before, but she seemed to get around fairly well for her age, judging by the fact she was trotting towards him. Slowly, but surely, of course. She wasn't exactly the fastest around. Though she was old, she seemed to have quite a lot of pep considering her words. "Well howdy there! You the one lookin' for some work around here, young'un?" She asked, and Granyl nodded, watching as she examined him similarly to how Applejack had done earlier. She circled him twice; seeming to look him over quite cautiously. Granyl nearly gasped as she jabbed his stomach with her hoof a few times, but she seemed to think nothing of it aside from it was a necessity. "Hmm... Y'seem to be pretty sturdy. Rough in a few places, too! Those are signs of a hard worker!" She skeptically looked Granyl in the eye, jabbing him again for good measure and to see his reaction. "Maybe got a little fat on ya, though." "W-Well... I suppose, maybe a little..." Granyl responded, looking back at himself. Applejack simply tipped her hat to hide her face from the moment, as it was beginning to get somewhat embarrassing with Granny Smith's behavior. "So what do ya think, Granny? Think he might be up for it?" She tried to push things along, not wanting this to get worse. Granny Smith smiled at Applejack and nodded. "Looks like a keeper to me! You sure can pick 'em, Applejack." She looked back at Granyl, keeping her smile. "Us apples usually don't need much help, we're pretty self-reliant. But we could use another strong back around here, considerin' we just don't have many hooves to work with. If ya need the work, then I'll be happy t' have ya around t' help out." "Eheh... You're too kind, thank you." Granyl replied, grinning. "I promise to pull my weight, you won't see me slacking off, I promise you that." "Hopefully not, or I'll be takin' ya to the down to the barn's cellar!" Granny Smith snapped, causing Granyl's eyes to widen. He sighed in relief as she started laughing. "Heheh, got'cha for a second there, didn't I?" She turned, starting to trot back inside, still laughing a little. "Well, ya got yer' answer, Applejack. Show 'em what needs to be done. And don't forget to try and have a little fun, yer; still young yer'self!" "Right..." Applejack muttered, lifting her hat from her face. "If ya want t' come back later, Granyl, Ah'll show ya around and what you'll need to be doin'. Ah've got some chores t' take care of right now, though." Granyl nodded. "Got it. I'll come back later, don't worry." "Ah ain't." Applejack replied, trotting off. Granyl blinked, an uncomfortable feeling washing over him momentarily before he broke free from it due to Applejack calling back to them. "Have a nice day, you two." He waved for a moment, before letting the Earth Pony get to work, turning to Midnight. "Hm... Suppose I'll be coming back later." He smiled. "I'll probably come back alone; it'll be pretty boring for you to just sit around, y'know...?"
