I brought the Marissa Alexander case up to show that the judicial system [i]doesn't[/i] work. What constitutes self-defense apparently varies wildly. Tasty ad homs, though. Yum.

Huh, you're right, it wasnt invoked. My bad. The judge [i]did[/i] instruct the jurors, though (as required by SYG law), that Zimmerman had a right to stand his ground and use deadly force. Without SYG, he'd have told the jurors that Zimmerman had a duty to get the hell out of there before defending himself. So I still stand by the claim that Stand Your Ground helped get George Zimmerman acquitted.
