Unknowing of his companions thoughts, Ba'al found himself wearying a bit of this trek as they ascended, the air chilling around them, though that was of little concern to the Goa'uld. Such temperature differences were beneath his notice at best, at least when it was a temperature such as this. The changing of the path was more annoying, making their ascent all the more difficult with switchbacks and increasing inclines. It was like the terrain itself was deliberately trying to spite them. And without assistance from the skies, it made it that much harder to see potential foes. Fortunately, or not, it seemed that this test would do that work for them. A shadow fell on the two of them from above, blocking out the mid morning sun. Ba'al looked up to see a large blue dragon looking at them in turn in a way that didn't exactly give him comfort. Well, that was either the dragon they were looking for, or something like whatever was in the forest. It certainly seemed strong, and also seemed to be gathering an entourage of bugs or something around it. "Well, that doesn't look pleasant," he commented as he raised his zat into a ready position, though if this thing was based around electricity then it wouldn't work as well. Still he advanced though, planning to get up as far as he could before it attacked, without provoking it, or at least so they could reach some advantageous terrain, as he noticed Sorin gathering a ball of energy in his hand or something.
