...Why exactly hadn't he been told of any of this?! 
"You mean that everyone here...is engaged to someone else here?" The shock was starting to wear off a bit, but it was quickly being replaced with panic and confusion. When had he been engaged? Who was he engaged to? Why didn't he know sooner? Was bringing him to this event his parents' way of telling him? Why on earth wouldn't they tell him themselves. He covered his mouth, looking to the floor worriedly. "And...both you and I...are engaged to someone here that we don't know..."
