"In space, no one can hear you scream" _Alien "We had all heard the rumors before. I mean come on, what salvage crew in sector three hadn't about The Argonautica? Hell, you could even visit one of the further sectors of the galaxy and still hear talk about the cursed ship that had been left adrift in the void after getting caught in the middle of a battle that had rendered it inoperable and its entire crew dead all those years ago. Cursed. Could you believe that? I sure as hell didn't, and neither did anyone else on the crew. Why would we? We were in serious need for money, and with those crazy rumors keeping everyone else from cashing in on The Argonautica we would have to be the biggest idiots this side of the Ursa Major not to cash in right? That was what I thought twelve hours ago, but not anymore. Oh god I was so wrong, WE were so wrong. We came aboard thinking this would be a cinch, then....then we started hearing things moving in the darkness and seeing shadows in the corners of our eyes. I thought it was just our nerves getting to us after hearing all of those tales and finally getting on the ship, but then, oh god, then I saw one of THEM. It was like nothing I had ever seen, I barely managed to avoid puking on myself before it came at us. It went for Barry, our security officer first, it *sob* it tore him in half, just...just right in two like he was made of nothing. W-we managed to get away, but one by one our team was picked off. Now its just me. I managed to lock myself in one of the barracks but I can hear them scraping at the door, and theres this god awful humming sound throughout the ship. *more sobbing* Sarah...Sarah baby, if you see this I just want you to know that daddy loves you very much sweetie. I love you so-" The message cuts off there. You don't know how many times you and your team had watched the video that had come along with the distress call from The Argonautica. It was standard protocol for any extraction team to review a distress call's audio or video multiple times for the sake of memorizing who they were sent to retrieve and to get a decent idea of what they were walking into. But this time something seems different. You've all seen videos of people under attack, but nothing came close to the look of sheer terror on that man's face. Something about this mission just feels wrong, but you can't quite place your finger on what it is. Whatever the case, you've seen your fair share of crazy shit. This one mission can't be that bad, right? Technically speaking, I tried this a bit earlier to no avail, but this is still more or less the first RP i've created on *this* sight, so i'm hoping it does fairly well. It's pretty heavily inspired by the Alien and Dead Space franchises, so be prepared for some gore and frights galore.
-The Argonautica is roughly 1143 meters in length. To better put that into scale, the Empire state building is approximately 381 meters in length. -Certain locations can only be accessed via codes or key cards unless a member of the crew has the ability and tools to hack. -Despite being left adrift for decades, the Argonautica still has power, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing -There will be audio logs scattered throughout the ship that may be of use -Your goal is to attempt to rescue any survivors from the salvage crew -Bullets and ship hulls do NOT have a friendly relationship

-This is an Rp were certain actions can and will have serious consequences, if you do something foolish like shoot indiscriminately or decide to just go off on your own don't expect your character to last very long. -There is a limit to what each person can carry in regards to ammunition and other supplies, furthermore, resources will be scarce so try to conserve what you have -Although everyone here is a trained soldier, each one has a specific role in which they outshine the others, and because of this they will have a certain task assigned to them -People WILL receive injuries. It may not always be life threatening, but it will happen. You cannot dodge everything that's thrown your way. On a similar note, fatigue is a thing here, people will be tired, hungry ,thirsty, etc. -There is a two post rule -Try to have fun -If you've read the rules post "the silence has been shattered" at the bottom of your CS
CS: Appearance (pic, link, or description): Name: Age: Role: Equipment (be reasonable here): Personality (this WILL play a role in how you react to certain things): Bio: Quote (optional): --
Appearance: Right here Name: John Archibald Fleence Age: 45 Role: Pilot of the extraction vessel Equipment: Semi automatic pistol, combat knife, ship schematic, keycard and keycode to the extraction ship Personality: John is a rather crass individual, his time as a soldier has made him smart, though it has also instilled in him a jaded and extremely pessimistic view on things. He does care a little about the people he works with, but he expects them to be able to care for themselves rather than needing him to cover their asses. He tends to view his current duties as the terran military's way of keeping him out of the way of younger soldiers. Bio: There are very few things John likes to talk about, coming close to the top of the list is his past before he joined the terran military. During his time, John has been in numerous combat situations, many of which have left him physically and mentally scarred. He continually re-enlisted whenever the opportunity to get out was given to him, though with his age catching up to him, he was assigned to extraction team duties so that his skills would not be put to waste.
