Avan stands at an impressive 6'3", weighing in at 215 lbs. Well tanned, sandy-blonde, and toned in musculature, he looks like the kind of guy that could model swimsuits for a men's magazine. His eyes are stormy grey in color, and his usual expressions hold the devious kind of cunning that marks him as either a serious trouble maker or a practiced prankster at first glance... and second glance.... and third glance...

He tends to be clean, but not tidy in any manner. To explain: He'll shower, smell good at any cost, brush his teeth, and other such things; but his room's always a mess, he's disorganized, his clothes and hair are usually a mess and wrinkled... You get the point.

Personality:
Avan is the textbook definition of devious bastard. He seems completely incapable of being serious about anything, even while being serious. He finds the very thought of sitting still appalling, and can't stand silence, often bursting out into song, rhymes, riddles, or some other ridiculous brand of noise if things get quiet. Though, if he ever -does- go quiet, you can almost guarantee he's either planning a prank, setting a prank, injured, or waiting for a prank to take effect.

However, his boisterous nature can often be misleading. People place him as lazy on occasion, or simply dim and trying to find recognition outside of intellectual pursuits. This would be entirely false. Avan is actually quite clever and very, very intelligent. More observant people can see this in his pranks- Ingeniously engineered, cleverly placed... And of course, anyone who knows his grades can also pick up on it- Though he often claims grades hold absolutely no meaning in intelligence.

History: 
(I am -horrid- at histories, please don't use this as a sample for my writing skill. :/ I just suck at making a full history for a character in one sitting.)
Coming from a pureblood family in the countryside near London, Avan has -always- been exposed to magic, and his knowledge of Hogwarts was given from five older siblings before him, as well as his parents themselves. So saying, he was raised to use and respect magic as a tool and ally- Though he treats it more like a partner in crime, most days. This fact is mostly due to being the youngest of six, his only advantage against older siblings and the rivalry that always comes with it being his wit and quick tricks.

Once he attained his wand, at the age of seven, magic became his constant companion in trickery and actual study alike, rare as it was for him to focus on studying, gifted naturally with intelligence as he was.

Several years later, he finally received the letter every wizard child waits for- His invitation to Hogwarts. Four of his older siblings still attended the school at that point, giving him a bit of a headstart in the departments of popularity and friendship, not having to make an entirely new friendbase for the most part. His intelligence and wit landed him a place in Ravenclaw, with two of his sisters.

While most of his focus did go into tricking or trapping half the school at some point or another, his grades remained excellent in most classes- At least, the ones he was actually interested in. Others he simply let slack. Despite everyone generally knowing it was him doing the tricking around school most days, no one ever seemed to find proof, and he avoided detention almost every time- Almost.

Reasons:
Avan's focus on the classes mentioned was only partially focused on academic reasoning. Most of it was used much more for trickery. For instance: His potions often end up used for nefarious things like stinkbombs, making people's voices sound like a chipmunk, etc, and his skill with herbology and care of magical creatures often leads to devious creatures, of both the floral and animal variety, left around to fuck with people. His skill in charms is used more often than not for illusions, and his skill in Defense against the dark arts only plays a small part in his skill for dueling- He prefers to make people surrender by throwing non-stop tickling charms at them.

Transfiguration, however, was highly used for academic interest. The idea itself simply interested him- And eventually led to him focusing enough on it to become an animagus.[/hider]

The wand lives up to the wood's wandlore in the purest sense. It's just as devious as its wielder, particularly apt with magics used with trickery in mind. And, as many like to think, it -refuses- to do non-verbal magic. Whenever Avan tries, the wand tends to just blast confetti at whatever he's pointing it at, accompanied by an obnoxiously loud clown-horn sound. The unicorn hair center has, however, made it incredibly loyal and well-bonded to Avan. The last person that tried to take it found their clothes turning invisible every time they tried to cast a spell with it. -And- the spell fizzled.

That's right. A penguin. Playful, social, and generally hilarious! And loud. And obnoxious... I'd run from an angry penguin too, wouldn't you?

Worst fear/Memory:
Avan's worst fear, unfortunately enough for him in his first year during the boat trip, is drowning, after an unfortunate experience with nearly doing so as a child.

Boggart:
Any boggart he faces turns to a roiling pool of water. His use of "Ridiculus" usually turns it into a sea of candy and firecrackers. And firecracker candy.

Amortentia:
The smell of vanilla, sulfur (Gotta love those fireworks), and clean laundry.
