At the end of Halo: Reach, there are thirteen dead Spartans found around the level Lone Wolf, and earlier in the game it's mentioned that other Spartan fireteams are helping evacuate civilians. I plan to start a little while after the first two levels, where the Spartans are deployed for containment and cleanup. That ultimately fails, resulting in the Spartans fighting across Reach-- eventually evacuating civvies-- and ending with their deaths at the same time Noble Six brings down the Covenant ship in the second-to-last level.
