We could say that it is the very same that the Dalish Keeper gives to the Warden (given that this is a prequel). Your character could obtain it from the Wardens in time and then lose it toward the end of the RP, like at Ostagar.

As for armour: whilst we might get some matching armour later in the RP, we will assume there was no standard armour for the Ferelden Wardens because none was readily available to Duncan, Alistair or the Warden in Origins.
