Name: Nanami Hidaka Age: 19 Appearance:

Personality: Labels placed upon things, declared as absolute truths, can only be met with the realization of their ultimate incorrectness. The first such label is "insanity." Abnormal mentality which causes a deviation from norms regarded as societally proper or humanistically "base," though this is an oversimplification. In other words, much of that which is Other and yet Same is deemed as "insane." Trite. For there exists the voice in the back of the head. The voice is constant. The voice is your own voice that speaks in reference to yourself. Those who are deaf do not hear words, even within their mind, but the voice exists all the same. "Gah, I'm hungry, I should go make some food." "Let's see, what do I need to do today?" "Alright, just one more math problem." "I could veer onto the sidewalk and kill that man right now, if I wanted to." This voice is a constant aspect of the human condition. This voice is nothing to fear, because it is simply a means of the mind's self-reflection. That reflection allows man to consider, to deliberate, to reason. It is a perfectly beneficial faculty. Nonetheless, it is said that talking to oneself is the first sign of madness, and answering oneself is the second. This is utterly nonsensical, one speaks to and answers oneself near-constantly, whether one recognizes it or not. That raises a question, though. Insanity functions in regards to the "mind," the mind exists through the conduit of this voice. What then is the relationship between the voice and the nature of insanity? Insanity is not hearing the voice. Insanity is not even listening to the voice when it tempts you towards the blackness. Insanity is when you tear the skin off the voice and plaster it over yourself. When you cease to contemplate finitude and look to a futile apotheosis that makes itself symmetrical above the flesh of Man. Insanity is when you make the voice silent, and act in its absence. The playwright of the inner monologue has been silenced and his inkwell knocked over, so that the black may stain the pages before it in an utterly monstrous way. Do not try to mop up the ink, for the pages have already absorbed it. Do not try to stem the flow, for then it will sink into your body as well. Why has the question this is meant to answer been avoided for so long? What sort of person is Nanami Hidaka? How does she think, act, and feel? This is her mind. This is her life. There is no "personality," because the voice has been killed. There is merely the shell of a girl whose actions cannot even be called "actions," as they lack purpose. Emotion as a force of the soul exists, but it lacks a guiding force. A nuclear missile that still carries its payload, but is launched in a random direction. She is the girl who acts as any other, until she abruptly decides not to. The girl who will greet you with the tip of a proverbial hat and a warm smile. The girl who will idly laugh with friends, joking about trivial and meaningless topics. The girl whose eyes will light up in joy upon receiving a new present. The girl who will freeze up in shock, on the verge of tears when seeing a friend or family member injured. The girl who will twist the knife in further, never dropping her grin. Why would she not, after all? It's not like there is a voice to stop her. Equipment: -Three bottles of magus blood. -A red pen containing a blue ink cartridge. -A sketch of a fake animal, namely a serpentine body with the wings and head of a toucan. -"The Guide to Being Kawaii", a reference book initially published online by username MercuryMaid371. -Mystic Code: Ephemeral Falsehood Biography: Raised in the Atlas Academy. Breathed in the Atlas Academy. Broke in the Atlas Academy. A falsehood of a self, sent by the organization to obtain the Grail and thus place access to the Root among their compendium, to increase their odds of success by .001%. A noteless life. Abilities: Sorcery Trait: Reservoir. General Magecraft. Imaginary Numbers Magecraft. Eastern Alchemy.
Reservoir Sorcery Trait of Nanami. Leads to an utterly obscene amount of od. While her circuits are mediocre if not worse, the od possessed by the Force of Life is extraordinary, a precedent seen in such beings as a certain Lord of Familiars. About 1800 units of prana can be stored. However, as no magus ever uses their od because there's always mana around, this has little efficacy. Imaginary Numbers A perfect world ability based in "making theories possible". Deals with the instantiation and manipulation of "imaginary numbers". Also applies to creating openings to Imaginary Number Space. For instance, she can be treated as a diver who thrusts her hand into a dimensional crevice. Although it's different, Imaginary Number space is similar to a pocket dimension. Things that fall into it cannot be affected by time and space. She uses this characteristic as a time capsule for her equipment. Eastern Alchemy The magecraft all members of Atlas are expected to know. Includes Thought Acceleration, and Memory Partition. Nanami's capacity maxes out at five partitions. Ephemeral Falsehood A Mystic Code based in the Imaginary Numbers affinity. A small black sphere that, when prana is run through it, becomes a "conversion unit" that can alter matter into imaginary numbers for an exceedingly brief amount of time, upon which calculations may be imposed for said time span. Brevity of the change is caused by the world attempting to "reject" the existence of imaginary numbers, and force a change back to matter. Cannot affect living beings without their consent. General Magecraft The standard fare for any self-respecting magus, learned in the Clock Tower. It's worth noting that anyone who calls themself a magus should have the following capabilities, so other Masters will likely possess this as well. Includes the following: Magecraft Shields: Protection, however one’s senses are amplified. Eg Protecting against blinding will make your eyes water, protection against suffocation will increase the smell, etc. Nightvision: The ability to see in the dark. Basic familiar creation: Creating familiars. These familiars are only for spying. They cannot speak, use magecraft or fight. Formalcraft: Drawing magic circles and using catalysts to perform rituals. Basic suggestion: Suggestion using the eyes to make magical energy flow into the targets body. This magical energy is stagnant. Basic Bounded Fields: Intruder alert, Soundproofing, Taking control of the mana in area. Basic Bounded Field Removal: Removal of intruder alert, soundproofing, and taking in the mana in the area. Locking: Locking doors with magecraft. Threads of Consciousness: Using one’s consciousness for scouting. Basic magus detection magecraft. Make body lighter: - Make body heavier: - Floating: Manipulation of mass and air currents. Looking through familiar: Transferring one’s consciousness to a familiar Basic clairvoyance: X-ray vision, operation of a crystal ball Geis: Officially a type of curse of coercion. Basically makes someone do what you want them to do unless that action threatens their life. A black magic. Fixing glass: Fixes glass, up to a couple of hours. Making a mystic pass: What it sounds like. Contracting: Making a contract with something. Curse of Self-Healing: General healing magecraft. Works by stimulating the cells and making them regenerate faster than normal. It is possible set as a program that activates when one is unconscious, however it then becomes impossible to control how much prana is used.
