Yeah, I wouldn't mind some people playing as races such as that, from experimentation or otherwise, but I'd like to stick to undead characters for the most part. I feel like if there were a ton of characters playing as non-canon races it wouldn't fit the whole Dark Souls atmosphere. I'm not trying to restrict creativity, but there's roleplays where numerous races work and there's ones where they don't, and I don't think they'd work in a world such as this. I'm gonna get to work on an opening and the such soon, and get some more ideas to start off with. If anyone wants to throw some more ideas in, please feel free! :)
Well, technically they could be undead elves, orcs, dwarves, and etc. Remember that all humans are affected by the darksign and become undead. So if you consider Elves and Dwarves as demi-humans, then they would eventually turn hollow as well. Don't forget that the Berenike Knights from the first Dark Souls went hollow, and they were 12-foot tall giants. Humans come in many species in the Dark Souls world, so you could easily make a case for other demihuman races turning undead as well so long as they can manifest the Dark Soul.
I'll try and get an outline of the thread done by tonight, but I won't have computer access for some hours. Also, what do you guys say when it comes to worldbuilding around Lordran? The roleplay would be at least a few hundred years after the chosen undead became the dark lord in our little alternate storyline, so that will give ys enough leeway to create what we want for the most part. With the abyss spreading and the darkness setting in, a large amount of land and creatures will be corrupted. We also need to find a way for our characters to actually get there in the first place. I have most of the pieces together, so hopefully we can get an OOC started up soon
It's possible that you could have it be that undead keep getting sent to Lordran because they haven't found out that the Chosen Undead has already linked the fires and reached an ending (light or dark ending). So they just keep sending undead there. The various characters could meet up in the asylum (which we could easily interpret to be 4-5 times large than the one we see in the game for the sake of the RP)
