Laura's eyes were suddenly forced to focus on... shit. A girl. She had already locked eyes with the woman before she even got a chance to survey the damned boomerang thrower. She could only imagine how competent her 'partner' was, with how she was wiggling around her hand and assuming it could roar... Which brought Laura to another incredibly irritating fact; they were being attacked by an Ursa. She crossed her arms in an unamused manner as her fellow huntress threw the boomerang she wielded and sprinted at her, leading the Ursa towards Laura in the process. She let a snarl escape her lips as the girl, whom apparently was named 'Trico', charged in her direction. It seemed her boomerang did little more than irritate the giant bear creature, who set its blazing red eyes upon Laura. Meeting its glare with one filled with just as much intensity, the imposing girl uncrossed her arms. The mechanism in her gauntlets snapped into action again, loading up another cartridge of dust and thrusting its internal needle into her tattoo channels. A surge of aura sent a vibrant cyan light flowing through the winding pathways that marked her fair skin, lighting her arms and legs up with a freezing cold energy. The air around her body filled itself with mist as a result of the rapid cooling produced by Laura's dust. Watching the Ursa plant its claws firmly into the ground and give out a battle cry before charging, the perpetually angry girl shot a brief glance at Trico. "Don't get in the way." Was all she spat before calmly (if you could call her 'calm') walking in the direction of the charging bear. No sooner than their strides hit the middle point of their meeting did she extend one hand, firing a cone of freezing cold energy to envelope the bear. The horrible creature managed a few more steps before ice coated every inch of its body, freezing it perfectly like a statue. Laura completed the rest of her walk in peace, reaching the frozen 'sculpture' in no time. Without missing a beat, she raised the same hand she had frozen the beast with and launched a strong punch at it. The bear shattered, hundreds of frozen Grimm chunks flying into the grass around them. The threat dispelled, Laura's tattoos lost their glow once more and she sighed in relief as the icy temperatures surrounding her body retreated. Turning on her bared heel, she looked back at Trico, a frown on her features. At least it wasn't a scowl this time. "I'm Laura. As per Headmaster Ozpin's instructions, we're partners. Don't slow me down. That is your only warning."
